No entry fee and no park staff in the building It is a self-guided tour about WWI internment camps. There is no washroom but it is wheelchair accessible
Interesting one-room interpretative centre steps from the Cave and Basin site about Banff's history as an internment camp. There is no front desk, you just let yourself in and out. I'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area, especially if you're into war history.
Often overlooked free exhibit on WWI history in the little building behind Cave & Basin
An interesting insight into a lesser known aspect of Canada's historical legacy. The internment museum outlines the harsh conditions suffered by post war European migrants in labour camps across the country. There are interactive electronic displays and plenty of information. The new facility is entirely free and has a nice view over the valley. A good place to spend half an hour.
