The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Boathouse

My wife and I came to Lake Louise to celebrate our anniversary and the team did an amazing job at making our time here exceptional. Besides the stellar service, the canoeing was amazingly beautiful...almost unreal. An hour on Lake Louise was stunning.

And I decided to canoe in her honour 😢My mom didn’t get an opportunity to visit Banff because she passed away. So on her birthday I decided to canoe. Jessica actually make me more emotional because my story had her in tears. He allowed me to canoe as long as I needed. Jessica has a heart of gold! What a well raised young lady.❤️ Thank you Jessica and the staff ❌⭕️❌⭕️🙏🏾❤️

For others thinking about going - our experience:
- the day we went was overcast & raining so may have been a little quieter.
- there was nearly no car parks left when we arrived just before 8am. I would say the car parking is more of a challenge than the line for the canoes.
- we lined up for the canoes about 8:10am & were the 5th in line.
- they opened at 8:30am & quickly worked through the line, we were on the water maybe 20 mins after opening.
- as others have said; for the extra $10 you could do the whole hour. You do need to add tax & tips to the price however.
- it is a bit of hard work canoeing so we didn’t go as far out as others & were back earlier than the hour.

If you wanted a cheaper option at Emerald Lake you can canoe for $90 for 1 hour & it’s just as beautiful.

Absolutely stunning views, highly recommended again and again regardless of the price tag.

Be mindful of the time as it would take longer to get back in windy conditions even if you’ve been kayaking/canoeing regularly.

Another important factor to remember is the lineup, hotel guests would get priority. We waited an hour before our turn but it was worth it and I’d definitely do it again!

One of the most amazing boating experiences you can have in the whole world is at this incredible lake. It looks like something from a magical movie with its beautiful blue color and peaceful atmosphere. Boating there is so much fun, and I highly recommend it to everyone. It can be a bit tiring, but it's definitely worth it. I would recommend this boating experience to anyone who visits this lake or this part of Alberta, again and again.

If you have the time, it's the best way to get closer to the lake. It's absolutely breathtaking being right in the middle of the water. The cost for hotel guests is $95 per hour or $85 for a shorter time, and for the general public, it's $160 per hour. The price of boating might seem a bit expensive, but once you're out on the water, you'll see the lake from a completely different and amazing perspective!
