Very good place for swimming, boating and picnic. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there
It’s ok. Great place for a day trip with the kids for the beach, great for a picnic, great for boating & water skiing/wakeboarding. Not amazing for paddle boarding or kayaking though if you like to explore outside of the beach area. It’s very “boaty” and “jet-ski-y” so you’re constantly looking over your shoulder to see if they’re watching for you or not. Not to mention riding out never ending wakes from them. I’d rather drive 45 min to Chin, pay $2, and feel safe than drive the 15min from my house, pay $10 and not feel overly safe as a paddle boarder. IMO.
The upgrades at Stafford lake are AMAZING!
The boat launch is now sharing duties with a boardwalk that allows for easy docking, and no need for that rock anymore...there are brackets all along to tie up! The beach area is sanded, and has grassy areas with picnic tables. There is a fee to get through, whether for the day, boating,...🤠...whatever your pleasure...✌️...so take the day off...and experience this country treasure🤠✌️🤠
Place is great and clean but please keep your dog off the beach
Rentals for Sit on top kayaks for adults and kids, paddle boards and wind surf available for rent
We went camping at Staford Park for 3 days. When we first got there I wondered what we got ourselves into. Once we got the trailer set up, tossed the lawn chairs out and sat down I realized it was pretty good. The view of the lake and all was really nice. The place fills up with people and boats all day.
The beach is quite nice compared to most prairie beaches and extends quite a way. There aren't alot of on site amenities however there are a few mobile vendors that park in for the day if you need a treat. We even got a season pass to the beach for the year. The price was fair and it beats the tar out of the Coaldale swimming tub.
Lastly I know this place has bad reviews from the old owners. Don't be discouraged. The new owners are very nice and accommodating. They are in the process of developing new camp sites and the park in general. Stafford Park has a lot of potential (wish I bought it) and I can't wait to see how it comes together over the next years. I'm glad I'm only 10 minutes away.
PS Massive boat launch! Although I dont have a boat the place makes you want to get one. You'll see.
