Tasty Thai Sundre

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! 5 stars!

July 31 update: I absolutely love the chilli oil that they sell at the cash register. I have finished 2 bottles and almost a third in 10 days. Its amazing as a chip dip, on toast, or eggs in the morning. I can't get enough of this flavourful condiment. If you like spice, I encourage you to try the chili oil.

We just celebrated our 31st wedding Anniversary here tonight. We decided to treat ourselves and selected many different dishes to enjoy the authentic tastes of Thailand. We were not disappointed!

Our host Justin greeted us with a warm friendly smile and took some time to explain the dishes to us. For those who are maybe a little leary of spicy food, let me assure you, you can enjoy everything from mild to very spicy. Make sure you try their freshly made chili oil if you enjoy a little more spice. I liked it so much, I purchased a bottle on my way out.

The food was fresh, beautifully presented and very enjoyable.

We started with the deep fried spring rolls with the sweet chilli sauce and the satay chicken skewers and peanut sauce. We added Tasty Thai chicken candy that reminded me of ginger chicken a little, but had vegetables and other seasonings as well. I especially enjoyed the Lemon Grass chicken stir fry. Fried rice noodles which was sweetened with onion and a dash of cilantro was also very nice. We couldn't decide if we would have room for the soup but really wanted to try it so we added Tom Yum (Hot & Sour) soup with prawns and it was delicious. Even though the fried rice looked amazing, we opted for the coconut rice which was a perfect side for our other dishes. All of the food was prepared fresh and arrived piping hot. I found everything was exceptional.

The kitchen learned of our anniversary and sent a traditional rice and mango desert with a sprig of spearmint. The combination of rice and mango eaten together were different, yet satisfying and enjoyable. It was slightly sweet but also salty, a very nice flavour and texture profile.

The interior was very clean and it was tastefully decorated with Thai accents which added to our overall experience.

Sundre is very lucky to have this restaurant and I will definitely be returning.

Best Pad Thai this side of Thailand! Seriously people of you want the best Thai food with huge helpings - my dish could of fed two eat there. Hot and sour soup unreal with the best shrimp.

Most definitely worth the drive from Airdrie! Our meal came out hot and so fresh! Thai beef jerky-delicious and extremely tender, crispy chicken-excellent flavour, tender, light crispy, curry vermicelli noodles- the best I’ve had in Alberta and I’ve tried many, fried rice- most authentic Thai fried rice, tender chicken, lots of fresh veggies.
All of the potions were extremely generous and fresh. The staff was very friendly!

This is wonderful gem in Sundre AB. The staff was wonderful! I always stick with what I know...we enjoyed, Red curry with chicken, Green papaya salad, pad thai with prawns and coconut rice. Every dish was delicious! One of my top Thai food recommendation. Yummy!

Food was amazing! Had the breaded chicken and it was so crispy, lightly breaded and lots of flavour. The service was good, the server brought us a hibiscus drink and it was absolutely delicious especially while on the patio enjoying the warm weather! Definitely a great place to go and we will be back!
