We really enjoyed celebrating our anniversary at the newly opened URA location. The views of the river valley from the upper level domes are unbelievable. Tip #1-bring binoculars! There is a non stop variety of birds to watch but they are far away. Staff members are friendly and most helpful. But here's an aspect of our experience I wanted to share which can be overlooked when one is so overcome with the beauty and novelty of the dome experience. My wife and I enjoy hiking, and we hiked down the access road to the lower level, down to the river and came back up via the path which is being changed to stairs from the top down. Not sure of the elevation change, but a few hundred feet for sure. Get's the blood pumping for sure. Then, in the morning, we went exploring different paths, to the left/north of the lower level access road. We followed a combination of old, and newly cleared paths through a variety of different tree types, far down into a ravine, right to a small stream in the bottom. It was magical down there. Almost felt like going back in time. And the birds! My wife has an app on her phone called Merlin and it identifies all the different species of birds it picks up. The work on these trails is ongoing, we were told there will eventually be 30km of trails. Hint #2-hiking poles are almost essential on these trails because there are some very steep sections. This facility is just getting started and it's only going to get better. If you like hiking, make sure you check out some of the areas I've mentioned. And bring binoculars! If you feel you aren't up to the strenuous hikes, you'll still totally enjoy the views and experience of camping at one of the several upper level units. We sure did!
We booked this resort for our anniversary with friends. Loved the view and the accommodations. Staff were amazing! Staff were so good at getting whatever we needed. Warning the lower level is a difficult height. So calm and peaceful.
Gal Pals 👯♀️ trip 2021 ...is cheaper than therapy! We all 💯% agree that this little adventure we are on with @ura.yeg has been fantastic. The staff is AMAZING. It’s rustic comfort!
The glamping accommodations are spectacularly comfortable. We are impressed with how hard the owners and staff are working to keep the islands ecosystem natural & untouched whilst giving us the guests a “Bucket List” experience right here in our back yard!
Way to go Steve & Jarrod! Thank you 🙏 to the Zena, Sammy, Katelyn, Natalie, Nelson, Andrew?(our teepee dishes & food guy - hope we got your name right!) @drift_foodtruck the catered food is fanfreakingtastic - even with our food allergies & gluten free options. We are on treaty 6 & crown land in the middle of the north sask River just outside of Edmonton!
Friends take the time to support this fabulous new business! #tourism #yegadventures #galpals #glamping #riveradventures
My partner and I had a fabulous time at Urban River Adventures and got an amazing dome tent. Bed was super comfy and the VIP food package was outstanding! A quick escape from the city that feels like you are in the middle of no where. Staff were wonderful and helpful if you needed it and left you be when you didn’t. We felt like at times we were the only ones on the island which was a great feeling. If you love camping but want it all there for you before you arrive this is the place to be.
When I saw the ad for this a while ago, I immediately knew I found what I wanted to do for my birthday. Husband and I booked a VIP Dome package for 2 nights. The food from Drift was great! Quick and easy to cook. The dome was super roomy and comfortable with an amazing view. It felt very private. We couldn't hear anyone else around as the sites are spaced a good distance apart. We explored the paths and island when we first got there and took in the view from our site. The next day we rented kayaks. Steve and the jet boat dropped us off down the river and we enjoyed a leisurely paddle back to the island. The next day, we checked out, had a picnic right by the river, enjoyed the sunshine and did some fishing before catching the boat to come home. The staff was amazing. Xena, Ben, Steve, and a few others whose names I didn't catch. The only suggestion I would make would be to have a pull tab on the zipper that is double sided to make it easier to zip when inside the dome. Thanks for a great experience! We will be back to do it again!
