The fall leaves were coming down in a shower of color when I was there 2 weeks ago. Beautiful!!
One of a few centrally located outdoor gathering areas easily accessible from nearly everywhere in the city as well as the trail system therein.
It has picnic benches with furniture, a sheltered area overlooking the the area, public washrooms at both ends, and a short jaunt to bower ponds. There are several fire pits meaning you have a good chance of funding an open spot. Bring your own wood.
One of the items making this location stand out is the terrain itself. The large open area is lower than the surrounding area giving the sense of being in an open area yet secluded from the city around.
Beautiful scenery. Lots of wildlife. Bring your food and cook it on one of the firepits with grills. Wonderful place for small or larger groups. Kid friendly with a small playground. Public washrooms arvailable.
Very nice with shade, picnic tables and fire pits, playground, washrooms and stream. Walking trails too.
Located just past bower ponds, this is a very nice area with many fire pits and seating areas. There is a small playground for children to play at. The trails connect to bower ponds as well as go all the way to heritage ranch. My only complaint is that the washrooms are closed for the winter. This is a commonly used area and they should be open and maintained year round
