Great spot!! Manager Deana is a wonderful person. Loved the view of the lake and all the trails to walk the dog. Didn’t use any of the facilities but the park itself is very well kept.
Shower house was clean, camp host was awesome. She provided sand toys/trucks at the playground and a couple other things and was fantastic with the kids that were camping. The campground itself is well kept.
While this isn't like a destination campground (mostly used for stops along the way or people staying the summer to work) this little campground offers a lot! First of all the manager is so lovely, and helpful. She pulled out a bag of newly thrifted toys for my sons to use at the playground, a really nice extra touch. The sites are decent size, the showers are super clean, there are multiple playgrounds (the main ones in the middle of the big loop so your kids can play) and the property is clean and well maintained, and its very quiet. Also, the $/stick firewood price is better here then in the provincial parks. The view of the lake is great too. If you're looking for a short stop travelling through Hanna this is definitely the best choice.
We have been camping at Fox Lake campground for 10 years. It has nice big sites, your choice of services, and is reasonably priced. There is a main washroom and coin operated shower. The town of Hanna is a 5 minute drive, should you need gas, groceries, or a double-double. We love Fox Lake campground as our home base when we take day trips to explore the nearby area where my Dad grew up.
The sunsets are spectacular, dogs on a leash are welcome, and there are 2 age-appropriate playgrounds for the kids. Bring your binoculars so you can check out the numerous birds that frequent the park. We have seen blue herons, Baltimore orioles, and many other migratory birds near the sites beside the water.
The original area is well sheltered from the sun by mature trees. The newer expansion has smaller trees, but with full service lots you can run the a/c in your unit. The new campground hosts are very friendly and welcoming. Firewood and ice are sold, and they will deliver them to your site. The only thing missing recently is the little free library that used to be near the shower house. I hope they bring it back soon, so I can get lost in a new book during my stay.
First come first served.
The couple who manage on the weekend were so friendly. Everything was tidy and the rates were very reasonable. Each site is generous (not a lot of privacy) but it was quiet, pretty sunsets and peaceful setting. Look forward to going back.
