Working out with a trainer is a vulnerable experience made worse by the fact that so many trainers seem unable or unwilling to empathise with people like me who are overweight, have a high-stress desk job, and struggle to make toast let alone a week’s worth of meals. But Sara isn’t like that. She listens to me, and respects me, and understands the massive role psychology plays in reshaping a person’s health and body. She has never berated me for setting smaller goals. When I deviate off course, she finds ways to get me back on track without making me feel like a loser.
Sara puts together amazing workouts built around my schedule, interests and equipment. Her routines are creative and challenging and she updates them regularly to keep my mind engaged and my heart pumping. When I am hurting, she helps me get through it by modifying moves and showing me different ways to roll or stretch or use a lacrosse ball. I’m lifting heavier and heavier all the time and my form has improved tremendously. At 41, I did my first push-up EVER. In fact, I did it by accident! My bench press is up by 30lbs, deadlifts up by 50-60lbs, I can lunge and squat and step on/off a bench with a loaded barbell!
I had reached a point where I knew that I wanted to lose weight and become more physically active again. The challenge was that I didn't know where to begin, or how to find a routine that would fit into my very busy work and family schedule. I asked a friend my mine what her secret was, as I watched her dramatically increase her fitness...and it turns out Sara was the secret! I'm so glad that I decided to reach out to Sara and make the investment in myself! Sara's workouts are easy to follow and she gives great instruction so that I know I'm using correct form and working the right muscles. Sara provides excellent feedback and guidance and has built a fitness program tailored to my objectives. 7 month's in and loving it! Can HIGHLY recommend Sara and her programs.
Sara has taught me proper squatting and lifting techniques, she has motivated me to make goals and follow through with them. I would highly recommend her!
