Visited the Lovely Water Lake in this Probincial Park.
Some people claim that they can hike that 6.5km trail in 90min, but it is not for the average hiker. Generally it takes about 5 to 7hrs to get to the Hut. It is a steep trail, hard to see it in many places, you need to look for the reflective markers along the way.
Have preloaded topographic maps in you GPS/maartphone.
I met a couple who shared their survival story after the man fell into the waterfall while trying to get some water. He managed to grab on something about 200meters down while the woman called 911.
Do not hike in this Park like going into a regular Park. Many of these trails require boat/kayak/canoe access to cross the river, then advanced hiking amd spatial orientation skills.
Never hike at night.
Cellphone service is limitted above 1000m elevation.
Carry bear spray or similar devices.
You need to book the Hut in advance. The Hut is not open for the public in the winter. Do not hike there in the winter hoping that you will find shelter, the Park employees are locking that Hut and you won't find a way in.
For those who have more stamina and who are skilled climbers, there are a number of trails (someplaces are hard to see) that lead you to various peaks.
Weather can chamge dramatically within hours.
Watch your knees while hiking down the mountain.
No fires allowed in the Park.
Check the Park webpage for amenities, information and regulations.
Great park
Such a beautiful and majestic place. Had an amazing time swimming in the lake and enjoying the views
Amazingly beautiful mountains. Difficult to access, but helicopters and boats can get you there!
