“Good campground. Sites have a decent amount of space and privacy, but there is some noise from the nearby highway. If possible, other sites (like Goldstream) are worth the drive.”

“If you are looking for a good hike, like a west coast feel and would like to be rewarded with a good view, check out Horth Hill. Several different paths with enough up hill to give you some exercise. Of course the dog will love it here. Weekdays will be less people.”

“Just down the road from the soccer field you will find blue heron trail. It’s right next to parkland HighSchool And is a great place for beginners to mountain bike. The trial itself is not to challenging so it’s really good for beginners to practice on.”

“nice area, close to the water, with stairs that can allow you easier access and a lot safer to get down, a few picnic tables around, there is a lot of mosquitoes of course, not much garbage.”

“Cute little parklet with a tiny toddler playground and set of swings. It backs onto a hazelnut grove and there's a few apples and quince trees so quite nice in the fall. Pretty spartan for anything other than a short distraction, though. Older kids would probably be better served by going to the deep cove school playground.”

“Ride here often with my kids, 13 and 19. I rode my BMX on the pump track while they tried, and mastered, the increasingly challenging lines. Usually a really good vibe across all ages with older kids mixing with younger. Easy tracks for the youngest riders. Blackberries in the summer, if you don’t mind a bit of dust on them.”

“I wish this park was better advertised because I was sad I could not take my children there when they were young because I simply didn't know it existed! It was on the last flavor trail and I had an opportunity to participate in a tour and learn all about the trees there. Fabulous place to play hide and go seek and learn about trees”

“This is a large, rocky beach not really made for lounging. During high tide, there would be no beach at all. There is a walking path along the shore, 2.5 KM from one end to the other which ends in a playground and small fields. Great for kids.”

“Quiet beautiful hills, with a pebbled beach. Saw carcass of a 6 gill shark and a decomposed ray. Lots of arbutus trees, ducks and 2 eagles swooping in to catch fish.”

“CY Hampson park is a well tended dog park primarily. There are two halves, one on each side of the road. Both areas are fully fenced and gated to allow dogs free roaming. All pets and owners were very well behaved and courteous. There are walking trails, some paved. There are several ocean lookouts and picnic benches as well as beach access for a very relaxing west coast experience. Only downsides, there is not a lot of parking and I did not see any washrooms.”

“Nice forest walking in the midst of town. Lots of trails which are mostly easy. Parking lot is closed form November to March, so you will have to park down the road and walk in.”
