“I had my first 1:1 session with Norah on 10/06 over Zoom. I have experience with regular mat and reformer pilates but never 1:1. During our time, I really enjoyed that it was a good workout but not so intense that I was exhausted at the end. Norah explains how to do each exercise in an easy to understand way and is very receptive to questions. Norah explained breathing techniques so well which is always my biggest struggle. I feel like even after one class, I can safely and effectively use the exercises on my own and make them a daily practice.”

“I have been taking classes at The Heart of The Village for over three years. The classes are outstanding and Deb is an exceptionally informed instructor. I highly recommend Deb and Kathleen. The studio is conveniently located on the second floor of The Oak Bay Theatre Building in Oak Bay Village.”

“All in all this Recreation Center is very good. It has a fine pool, a workout facility that is quite up to date, and other areas like the skating rink. There are a couple of areas for improvement including the family changing room for the pool which is small, crowded, and uncomfortable to use due to lack of things like benches or an extra change table for babies as there is only one. The workout area suffers from problems due to some of the people who use it and refuse to follow rules or act aggressively towards people who do follow the rules. Overall it is a great place to bring children for swim lessons, to go for a swim, to work out, and to engage in many different healthy activities. There is free parking, but it fills up fast at busy times. There is also some free street parking around the area.”

“To my mind, Ajna Yoga is a hidden gem in Oak Bay. Their teaching style is gentle, healing and perfect for anyone with injuries or for anyone seeking a therapeutic style of yoga. Jules & Michelle (and the whole team at Ajna) are thoughtful teachers who have immense knowledge of the human body and know how to ease neck, shoulder or hip pain and how to encourage a (fun!) and meditative style of body awareness. I attend classes almost daily and always learn something new and leave the class feeling refreshed and renewed.”
