I have learned so much and continue to learn. Ariel will teach you the essentials and help you grow as a drummer! I have had other teachers before and they all seemed much more concerned with dazzling you with stuff they know you can't do just to impress you. With Ariel, she has a good sense of where you are in your journey and will teach you with that starting point and build you up with each session. If you do your part by practicing, she will make you a better drummer!
Ariel is a great teacher! I started with her last summer without any knowledge on drums and I have been feeling really comfortable, excited and fun with every single session I have had so far with her. She could customize the sessions with exactly what the student wants, either pursuing professional development or just casual learning. I have enjoyed learning and playing drums with her a lot!
Ariel is a wonderful instructor who helped me learn something I’ve always wanted to do. She is fun to learn from, the best drummer in the world, and also just super easy to be around. I’m thankful to have found her and couldn’t recommend getting lessons at Drum It enough!
Ariel is an exceptional teacher, I always look forward to my weekly lessons. It's a great blend of learning by the book and also jamming along to songs. Highly recommend!
I have been taking drumming lessons with Ariel on a weekly one-hour basis in this studio since November 2018, and will continue to do so as long as I live in Victoria because I really enjoying every moment here. There are a couple of reasons, among many others, which makes me delighted to recommend this Studio in general and Ariel as a teacher in particular to all drumming students or their parents. Firstly, Ariel is professional, caring, patient, and enthusiastic -- all highly desirable qualities from an instructor. She can quickly detect areas for improvement, and provide guidance, correction, and demonstration accordingly. Secondly, the lessons maintain a good balance between regular and systematic learning from textbook content, which takes most of the class time, and improvised jamming or song coverage, which usually takes place in the last minutes of lesson time with Ariel play the bass or a song from her laptop. I find it an effective way to put newly acquired grooves or fills into practice and train my musicality. Thirdly, the double drum sets in the studio -- with Ariel teaches on the electronic one and the students use the acoustic one -- makes it easier for learners to observe, practice, and play along with the teacher. Fourthly, I am also grateful to all the prompt, detailed, and effective suggestions that Ariel generously shared out of class time, to name a few, how to choose a proper drum set, where to find peers to jam with, which drum(er)-themed books to read and movies to watch. Last but not least, every time when learning a new drumming style/genre, Ariel recommend me some bands or songs to listen to, which largely enhances my preparedness and learning outcome for each lesson.
For the above listed reasons, and many more which cannot be detailed here owing to the limited space, I highly recommend Ariel to every prospective drumming student or her/his parents without hesitation!
