Edible Landscapes Design Ltd

Edible Landscapes Design was recommended to me two years ago. I had just lost my husband to cancer, and had neglected the yard for several years. I had grandiose ambitions, but needed to scale the work over several years, as I could afford it. While the yard is still a work in progress, we have renewed the lawn, installed irrigation, put in raised beds, and generally made the yard a wonderful place to be. Joshua always listens to me, and is flexible, but is very knowledgeable in all areas of gardening. At his suggestion, we planted a "lawn alternative" to grass, and I am ecstatic with the results. He has worked in cooperation with my stonemason and my carpenter, and has been flexible in scheduling. Joshua has even been willing to hep me decide what I need to do now for infrastructure, what I need to do now because I want to, and what I can put off until the future. I love the fact that I have a beautiful, flower filled garden, with all sorts of edible fruits, herbs, and vegetables tucked between, All of the people who work with him are lovely, knowledgeable and hardworking, but Meaghan can do more in an afternoon than I can in a month. They help me with maintenance between projects, and they are very reasonable in price. I am very picky, and have never been disappointed by a job. For me, they have made it possible for me to keep the garden I love and to get it ready for the happy day when I retire. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

Signed up for an online workshop “Grow Your Own Food Forest” this morning with Edible Landscapes. It was extremely well organized and clearly highlighted the most important aspects of growing food in smaller spaces. Great followup resources were posted immediately. Thank you!

Edible Landscape Design offered a informative workshop via zoom. It was full of great details, inspiration, and advise on creating a Food Forest. I will be contacting them soon to get advise on the transformation of our backyard.

I'm a small business owner who has both hired and collaborated with Edible Landscapes Design. Joshua impressed me as a sharp mind with big picture ecological ethics who goes the extra mile for the customer. What he creates seems to provide a sustainable food yield over at least the medium term, while being reasonable to maintain and quite beautifully landscaped. We purchased an acre of land one year ago and quickly saw its potential to become a thriving food forest. Taking on this ourselves was a daunting task though, as we faced many challenges with drainage, varied terrain, and established trees/plants to name a few. We found Edible Landscapes, who were willing to work with us despite the distance (Qualicum Beach). Josh and his team came up to assess our property, and we could immediately tell they were a welcome presence on our land. They were tremendous at answering all of our questions, quieting our concerns, and making the whole process far less daunting. Josh made multiple trips to see the land in all seasons. They have created an amazing plan for us to slowly start the transition in stages (we will be doing the labour ourselves).
We were particularly impressed with the in-depth look at our family, to assure the whole family’s needs are being met, and all of our favourite edibles are being integrated.
Josh’s approach is very logical, methodical and low-impact, in that he finds solutions cohesive to the established plants and existing terrain.
