10 Acres at The Pier

We went here after getting off the ferry for a quick dinner before driving back into Victoria and boy were we not disappointed. I had the fried chicken and my partner had the gnocchi with sage and squash. Both were perfect and far beyond our expectations for a dinner in Sidney.

Cost was surprisingly low but I guess that's what happens when you're used to dining in downtown Victoria and Vancouver. We had an appetizer, two entrees and two drinks (wine and a cocktail) and the total with a 20% tip was below $100.

At any rate, we were incredibly pleased with this meal and look forward to coming back here for dinner the next time we're in Sidney!

We had the best restaurant experience that we've had in years!
It started at the door when the host may our table request a possibility.
Our waitress was super attentive in a timely manor.
The food was spot on and tasted so fresh! Lastly my wine wasn't quite what I was hoping for so the floor manager (Nancy) went above and beyond to make it right!
We will be sure to spread the word. This is the kind of experience people are looking for when they go out for dinner.

Thanks to the lovely bartender Nancy I was not even upspet to watch the Canucks lose game 7. Her cocktails are perfectly balanced and worth every penny. I left the bar feeling like a better person thanks to Nancy. I will definitely be returning!

EDITED to Reflect recent visit:
We've been here on 4 occasions now; 3 out of 4 experience have been really great. I removed my feedback from the not-so-great visit, as I feel the majority of our experience should reflect the review, rather than focus on the negative of just one bad experience. Chalk it up to an off day - which we all have!
Recently we got to sit on the patio and it was GLORIOUS, with the warmth of the fire table. It felt like we were in the comfort of our own yard. Our servers were both amazing, cheerful, helpful and funny. Our food came out quick, hot and DELICIOUS! Drinks were fresh, cold and tasty!
This is quickly becoming our new favourite place, and I hope the trend continues!

Decided to try it out and booked a reservation online which was convenient. We weren’t greeted very warmly - the host seemed focused on other things and a bit frenetic. We noticed a major lack of social distancing and they looked at full capacity. Beautiful scenery and location right on the water with a nice ambiance and decor. The bar and patio looks awesome. Service was pretty good - you can tell they’re still working out the kinks but the food was excellent. I had the gnocchi which was tasty despite the small portion size. My Mum had the shrimp salad which was really good and my Dad has the trout and garden salad. Overall we thought it was very good and will definitely give it another go after a month or two when they’ve streamlined things. Would have given 5 stars but the lack of social distancing and greeting threw us off.
