I miss Quantum Yoga so much, can't wait for re-opening
I joined Quantum as part of a new year's resolution to get in shape. I remember my first class, there I was at 55 years old, totally out of shape and feeling huge in my gym clothes and very self conscious. The first thing that struck me is how welcoming and friendly the staff at the front desk are, they gave me a tour of the very glam change room and also introduced me to the instructor. I love that new people are joining all the time, so the classes are always full of people at every level. No need to feel self conscious, everyone is too busy to notice what you look like, and the age range is from 20-70! The instructors are fantastic, upbeat and encouraging. My only regret is that I didn't take a before photo when I started, because 6 weeks on and going 3x a week I'm starting to see some awesome changes in my body shape and overall fitness. I would encourage anyone to join Quantum, I'm glad I did.
The yin yoga was excellent and just what I wanted, the 60 minute classes definitely proved a thorough workout. I found that the instructors approach the session almost like yoga drill sergeants, which I found a bit off-putting. I would go back, but I do have a question for the owners: why is the shower in the womans dressing room communal and open while the men's showers have individual stalls? The lack of privacy in the shower is a deterrent for me, but if there was the same privacy offered as in the mens rooms I would be more open to it. Thank you!
Visited this studio whilst on a holiday on Vancouver Island from the UK. I was offered the introductory offer of $20 for a week of yoga classes even though I pointed out I was not a resident, which I thought was very generous. I mostly did the 60 minute Bikram classes and one 90 minute. This studio is lovely with great teachers. Allison, in particular, corrected my technique quite a few times.
