Sammy Long Acupuncture

Where to begin? Sammy is fantastic. I came to her for treatment for my post traumatic stress disorder and insomnia. Sammy has been so committed to my healing journey, offering support for all different challenges I experience. She regularly keeps me updated on what she is doing during treatments and why she is doing that, allowing me to be an active partner in the process, instead of a recipient. Her deep commitment to ensuring that she has my full consent before engaging in treatment has created a space where I feel so safe. Even through the course of the pandemic, she continues to check in on me, offer suggestions for how to regulate my nervous system and stay well. I truly cannot even express the role she’s had in my healing.

I had my first session with Sammy yesterday. She's truly wonderful at what she does and is such a welcoming and relaxed person. Sammy is incredibly good at what she does. My 11-year-old daughter, N, was dealing with serious insomnia, we had tried everything that had been suggested and nothing was working. I thought that acupuncture may help but I wasn’t sure if N would be able to go through with it, she is petrified of needles —just the thought sends her into a panic!

I let Sammy know that N was *very* scared of needles and she went above and beyond to make my daughter comfortable. Sammy was patient and gentle, she was hilarious and made the appointment fun. She did everything she possibly could to help N get a sense of just how gentle the treatment would be. N ended up feeling comfortable enough to consent to the treatment, I still can’t believe it!

My girl overcame her fear and what’s even more amazing, the treatment worked! After a year of trying everything under the sun with no success, just two sessions with Sammy had my daughter sleeping peacefully again. It has now been about 6 months and my daughter still sleeps peacefully every night.

I don't know what I would do if I never met Sammy! She is by far my go-to professional for anything and everything! I first started seeing her after 6 months of knee pain. Within a few months of seeing her on a regular basis, i was able to get to a point where my knees weren't hurting anymore and they were better than before! Not only is she extremely knowledgeable and profession, she's one of the nicest people I've ever met.
