Straight Up Cycles

Brought my wife's bike in to get a tune up, they did a good job with the bike and the repairs were done quickly. However, they added a $30-$40 extra charge for something to do with the rear hub bolts without telling/asking me first. This was not discussed prior to them fixing the issue and was brought up only after the work was done. When I mentioned that it was a bit upsetting to have that happen, the store managers didn't even apologize and basically had nothing to say. Whether you're getting your car or bike fixed, it has always been my experience that the mechanic call you out of basic decency if they think additional work is to be done and it will cost extra (to get your approval). I guess this place does not agree. Otherwise, they did a good job on the tune-up for the bike.

This is a great bike shop for self-supported cyclists to stop at.
