Chilcotin Sunrise Chalet

Roland, Udette and Josaya are wonderful hosts. I felt like family from the moment I arrived. Booking was simple and the cabin was the coziest I've ever stayed in. The location is magical and the views are spectacular. Truly a slice of heaven and the perfect place to rest, recharge and connect with nature. Highly recommend.

we had a wonderful time at Roland and Udete's place. Very warm welcome and great advices for activities by the whole family. They are wonderful and inspiring people and their place is magic. Peaceful, beautiful yet so alive. We stayed 3 nights and We woke up one morning with the sound of coyotes and moses in the distance. The little cottage we stayed in, is very comfy and cosy with nice beds and a stove for chilly nights if needed, plus wifi! The area outside the cottage is very well organised and equiped with very ingenious systems to shower, enjoy a barbecue etc. It was higly enjoyable to have all the confort needed yet live very simply in a beautiful place for these few days. We enjoyed taking the kayaks to go around the lake in front of the house. Chilko lake, not so far from the house was the most beautiful lake to go and see with all the glaciers surounding it. We recommand warmy this very special and beautiful Chilcotin chalet.

Staying at Roland’s place is one of the best experiences I ever had. Roland and Udete are fantastic hosts. But what is more important: They live a lifestyle that really makes you rethink many things. Sustainable off-grid living at its best. Unfortunately we only had 3 nights at this place. One week would make more sense. There are chipmunks, squirrels, herons and other animals on the property. If you are used to walking in the nature there are also very nice walks.

I hope this beautiful place remains as it is. We will revisit if we can.

Regarding the road: I would personally recommend and SUV to get there (or real 4x4).

Safe and pampered in awe-inspiring Nature!

Nature is where I feel at peace, so spending time in and exploring largely untouched Nature in a remote area is what I love doing. .

At the Chilcotin Sunrise Chalet I was able to do this in a beautifully simple and safe way. In recent years I have stayed at this comfy, cozy log cabin several times and absolutely love it! It offers all you really need and much more. And with a solar system you even have power and wifi to stay connected, if you wish to do so.

What makes this off-grid place extra special is the Class family, your hosts Udette, Roland, and their son Jesaja. I felt welcome, and part of the family when I joined them in their home for meals and/or if I wanted company. They made my stay relaxing and memorable, but also fun and interesting, sharing their endless knowledge about this area they have called home for a long time. I had privacy when I wanted it, but oh, did I enjoy delicious meals and wonderful conversations in their home.

As I have experienced, this ‘package’ - the hosts, lodging, location - is a marvellous get-away any time of year! It’s the real thing…

For the past few summers, I have spent over a month staying in this log cabin. It is perfect for all my needs. Roland, Udette and Jesaja are the most gracious and accommodating hosts. I always enjoy their company and very glad to learn about their experiences in this magnificent wilderness. I come here to paint, read, and stargaze and generally get away from my busy city life. The cabin is perfect!! And a tent is set up for me as a painting studio. How thoughtful! As I come for a long stay, I bring my own food but have always been invited to take fresh greens from their massive garden. The rhubarb is superb! I can’t resist Udette’s delicious baking when invited for tea. There is ample fresh water for cooking and washing up and loads of firewood for cool mornings. Solar power provides for my electrical needs and Wi-Fi to stay in touch with my loved ones. What a spectacular setting for a wilderness holiday. I want for nothing while under the protective wings of this lovely family staying at the Chilcotin Sunrise Chalet.
