“We tried the resort for the first time in late September with our trailer and car top boat for some quiet fishing time. We found the resort and grounds to be very nice with the majority of the sites having a great view of the lake. Since it was a quieter time we acquired a lake side site and had our boat pulled up only a few feet from the trailer. There were plenty of docks to tie your boat up to if you didn't have the ability to use the shoreline. All sites had power and water and there is a two station sani-dump at the entrance/exit for RV's to use. The washrooms and showers were clean and located in a spot for an easy walk from any site or cabin. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the resort is only minutes from a business hub that would carry most of any supplies you would need if you needed to re-stock or forgot to pack anything.”

“This place is spectacular! We had a magical family vacation - so much fun on so many levels. The lake was great for swimming, boating, tow tubing. The cabin was very comfortable and a perfect size for our family. The property has so much charm. Highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to create memories that last a lifetime!”

“New owners, same charm. I've been going to this ranch for over 30 years and it's rustic. It's perfect. Little to no cell reception, so many kms of hiking/biking/riding trails, lake front with beautiful new additions such as a new volleyball court, many more campsites & a beach that is actually appealing to lay out on. We had an incredible time. Thank you Willy & Amy for hosting us. We cannot wait to come back and share this hidden gem with our friends next year!”

“I really enjoyed my 3 night stay, meeting the lovely family and guests, and the grounded animals. I chose to book the off grid Trapper's Cabin. Kayaks and canoes are free to use on Henley Lake, a smaller lake with cute ducks and 2 loons. I felt adventurous, and did a horseback lesson w Valaurie plus the 2 hr trail ride w Danielle. A memorable experience, thank you ladies!! The Grill Night dinner was 100% my kinda food, local, fresh, and cooked with love. It's a fun night where guests gather together w the family and share stories. What a true sanctuary... one to return to some day.”

“Possibly a biased opinion, but I spent many of my summers at this lodge growing up because I was besties with family of the Bracewells. Breathtaking views, a horse for every rider, and to this day I'd do anything for a summer day out on their giant raft. An unmatchable experience cracking hot with Chilcoltin history and genuine hosts with wild stories to tell that will blow your mind. If you don't go out here after reading this review, youre a fool.”

“We were beyond excited to go to Watch Lake Lodge this year. I went as a kid and couldn’t wait to take mine. The cabins are exactly as they were and as they should be. You well your water, cook on a wood burning stove, ride through beautiful scenery and relax at the lake. The boot selection is incredible, the staff is amazing, the store is full of goodies the kids love and you honestly can’t find a more relaxing and beautiful location. It’s the perfect place for a family vacation and to unwind. We can’t wait to go back.”

“Very much enjoyed our stay here! We rented Mobile 4 and our friends had an RV spot. I would mention that mobile 4 advertises as 3 bedrooms but 2 are actually connected with a section of wall missing. Not really a problem but it was unexpected 😉 The beds were very comfortable, the heater worked great, everything was spotlessly clean and the kitchen had most everything you need. The boats were great, the folks running the place were lovely. The grounds were nice, and the little store on site had a good selection of things you may have forgotten. Plus ice cream 😎 we will for sure be visiting again!”

“The weather did not co-operate too much while we were there, but the resort is lovely, well maintained, very reasonably priced, and has all amenities needed. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the lake is SO beautiful. Resident owners of other lots on the resort are also friendly and helpful with fishing tips. Well mannered on leash dogs are welcome and present there. Looking forward to going back :) Thanks for the lovely rest!”

“Rode in from Blaine, WA on 2 motorbikes. So our arrival time kept changing. Sharon was very flexible and accommodating. When we got to our site, she hand delivered firewood for us, and fully explained all the amenities. I have never stayed in such a beautiful place. The lake sustains so much wildlife, and we we lucky enough to watch and hear the beavers in the evening. The campfire overlooking thelake was the perfect end to the day. Its so quiet and off the beaten path that aside from Sharon and her son we didn't encounter another person. Exacly what I was looking for. Highly recommend!”

“We had campsite E40, right on the lakeside. It's one of the better ones with nice access to the lake. 38-44 have nice little beach coves, the other sites have steeper and rockier lakefront. The sites are nice and big but do lack privacy, however that's to be expected at such a place. The playground for kids is great and the public beach and picnic area are super big and inviting. There are also trails for hiking and walking your dogs at both the west and east ends of the campground as well as plenty of little trails woven through the woods around the sites.”

“Phil and his team at Chilko Experience have a truly unique and remarkable experience to offer. The property is beautiful, the food is top notch, the staff is a diverse group of knowledgeable and engaging people with a wealth of experiences, and the opportunities to see untouched nature are practically limitless. We had an amazing time on our visit and are thrilled that we discovered Chilko and had the opportunity to stay for a week.”

“One of the best horseback riding tour I had! Horses were gentle and appropriate for the riders, the trail loop around the lake was beautiful with different landscapes and features. Our guide was also very friendly and fun. Highly recommend!”

“Great location! Right off the road, a small strip of campgrounds. The sites are very close together with some having a couple trees inbetween them. The lake is beautiful! Sandy beach right from your campground to the lake. Would definitely go back. Very few Mosquitos in September but lots of bees. Very windy!”

“Outstanding hospitality! Our guides Josh & Ben were incredible: ethical, knowledgeable, and highly skilled. The chef, Gary, created 5-star meals that were absolutely amazing! Karen's stories gave an insight into the area, a magical place that her family has called home since 1957. Sydney ensured everything was sparkling clean. The ability to experience and photograph the Chilko grizzlies with such an amazing team, is a gift I will treasure forever. Thank you for an unforgettable experience and for your love for the land and the wildlife that calls it home.”

“My husband and I spent 6 days at Bear Camp with the multi-sport package. The location is stunning with water views from all the tents. Everyday started with hot tea delivered to your tents and you had the choice to be as adventurous or chill as you wanted. We went hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, boating to Honeymoon Point and horseback riding. Meals are all chef-prepared and delicious! You’re also given snacks in between meals so you never go hungry. As a vegetarian, they had no problems catering to my diet. Overall, I had an amazing time and truly felt the staff went above and beyond to make everyone feel comfortable and happy. These guys have mastered the art of hospitality and truly made us feel at home. Thank you so much Brian, Ashley, Grace, Whitney, Graeme, Sage and Travis”

“Staying at Roland’s place is one of the best experiences I ever had. Roland and Udete are fantastic hosts. But what is more important: They live a lifestyle that really makes you rethink many things. Sustainable off-grid living at its best. Unfortunately we only had 3 nights at this place. One week would make more sense. There are chipmunks, squirrels, herons and other animals on the property. If you are used to walking in the nature there are also very nice walks. I hope this beautiful place remains as it is. We will revisit if we can. Regarding the road: I would personally recommend and SUV to get there (or real 4x4). If you want the real chilcotlin experience: Stay here!”

“A magnificent, world class wonder! I feel privileged to have stayed at this wonderous place in the heart of the Tŝilhqot’in Territory. The cabins are beyond expectations; impeccibley clean, and perfectly appointed. The main lodge is so uniquely structured, and comfortable. The meals are first class, every single time, and the chef is a true gem! The lands are magical, and the management, and staff are absolutely amazing!! Don't miss this rare find, if you have the opportunity!”
