Small park. Ice climbing season is brief, but today it was super fun.
Great view. You get to see everything, from the highest peaks to down by the creek. Just try not to lose your footing while jumping from rock to rock. The water quickly gains speed. Oh, and bring water. You WILL get thirsty. The long trail takes about 45minutes to an hour to complete, so try to manage your time. I would suggest going first right into the forest to begin for beginners, because it gets the steep incline out of the way before fatigue starts to set in.
The hiking part of the park is always great... It's a convenient, leisurely and short hike to do the full loop. Anyone could handle it if given enough time for the inclines. There are some nice views of the lake and Kelowna's downtown, and some interesting cliff viewpoints overlooking the waterfall. The campground is convenient but very city-park like (you won't feel like you're in nature there). My main gripe is the park's services (bathrooms, parking, etc) for the hiking paths seem to be never open.... They have a short season or are understaffed or something. I can't remember the last time the gates were open so you could park in the official spots instead of alongside the road. I don't get that.
Quiet campsite on the lake across from Kelowna BC. Nice park attendants. Small bathrooms for such a large park. Good thing they are building a much larger bathroom facility. We heard hoot owls from our site - very cool.
We have been coming to this incredible park every year since Park opened in the 70'S.
Pat and his staff make this a first rate spectacular park.
This is one park that nature never allows to stay the same. Winds, rain, sun, floods and fires change the shoreline and the creek constantly.
We regularly occupy a site twice a year since the park was born and love to explore the new things mother nature has handed out since each last visit. This spring she decided to completely rearrange the mouth of the creek. There will be a few new beach islands there this summer. Can't wait!
In spring 2018 campsites with hookups have been added, several have nice lake views!
This an awesome place to have some summer rest and play and I can't wait to get back again!
