“Good selection of in season veggies, I cannot get enough of the crisp and delicious cucumbers. The prices are really below what you would expect. I like to go here for as many veggies as I can get, and whatever else I need I will find in a grocery store. They also stock things like organic bread and cheeses from local producers which is very convenient. And there are some cool chickens hanging around to check out!”

“HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I had all the Poly B, hot water tank and faucets replaced, a huge job. I had several estimates prior to choosing Winter Plumbing and Heating, what it came down to was the owner Wayne and the detailed knowledge he had for the job when he did the quote. Not only did they get it done on time, they kept to the quote and his son Travis's workmanship was impeccable.”

“The service and quality from this company was exceptional. They helped me trouble shoot landscaping issues and even came out to show me exactly where the fence posts would go before I even committed to using them. The staff was professional and respectful. I would recommend this company to anyone who is considering a chain link fence. Thank you!”

Bark n' Fly Dog Daycare and Boarding

“Bark n Fly has glowing reviews and great photos on their website. That, combined with a thorough questionnaire when bringing in a new dog and their staff's apparent willingness to answer questions and make accommodations for my dog, made me believe that they would take great care of him. Instead, they ignored the requests I made and they had agreed to follow. My dog's experience was very different than what they had me expect. For example, it was -15 today, and I asked how much time he would be spending outside, as he gets cold easily. The staff member at check in said not much, that they had a play area inside. When I asked how much time he spent inside vs outside at pick up, they said he came inside for 10 minutes during his 2.5 hour visit. Surprised, I asked about this, and was told that the dogs don't really play inside. (One of the reasons I chose Bark and Fly was that their website showed indoor and outdoor play areas.) Another example: I made it very clear that my dog hates to be picked up. I wrote this several times in the new dog application form (which I wonder if anyone read) and told the staff member during check that he should never be picked up. They had said making accommodation like this was not a problem, and that they would mark it in his file so all staff would know. When I came to pick him up, he was being carried. While this seems like a great daycare for many dogs, and I believe my experience was unusual based on other reviews and conversations with other patrons of Bark and Fly, I was very disappointed in our experience here. A (Very Long!) Update: Norm, the owner of Bark n Fly, and I spoke on the phone conversation regarding my dog’s experience. Norm watched the camera footage of my dog’s time at Bark n Fly and shared what he saw with me. This was quite reassuring, as while my dog did spend most of his visit outside, some of it was voluntary. After about an hour and a half, all the small dogs were brought inside, then after 15 minutes indoors, a door was opened between the indoor and outdoor play areas. It’s great to know that my dog had the option of coming inside during the last hour of his visit. I’m also told that, as the outdoor play area was in sunlight that morning, the temperature in that specific area was not as cold. Apparently their thermometer read -9 degrees. There were a couple discrepancies between the video footage and what I’d be told by a staff member upon pick up, the most interesting being why my dog was picked up. (The staff member told me they had lost his leash and he wasn’t coming inside; according to the video it was to avoid walking by another dog near feeding time.) From our conversation, it’s my understanding that the staff didn’t have time to thoroughly read the new dog application form, and that the staff member at drop off didn’t mark my requests on my dog’s file. My advice to new guests of Bark n Fly is to be extremely clear about what expectations you have regarding your dog’s care, and to ask that those requests be put on your dog’s file immediately. Norm has also said that he and his staff are going to improve communication, in order to prevent any similar experiences. I greatly appreciate the follow up, the willingness to discuss these issues, and the confirmation that none of these mistakes would be repeated should my dog return. The overall impression I got was that Norm truly cares for his canine guests, and wants the best for them. While I won’t personally be back, it is comforting to know that this is a quality business and that most humans and dogs who visit are well cared for and happy.”
