My old Honda was getting rust in the rear wheel wells, and I wanted to keep it from rusting more, even if I couldn't fix it.
I was advised it had taken frame damage that would take thousands to fix.
But when I asked they to just cover over it and repaint, they did immaculate work, and even threw in doing the rusting trim pieces!
