It was clean, quiet, and cozy and had everything I needed management was very nice and kind I would definitely recommend it as a good place to stay

My boyfriend & I stayed at Beckett’s late July and LOVED it! The accommodations exceeded all our expectations & Shelley is hands down one of the best hostesses I’ve met.

I’m not sure exactly when the B&B opened but it must’ve been sometime after 2016 (which is when the Beckett’s moved to the island) so everything felt really new & cared for. There are 2 units - we stayed in Unit 2 (aka “the Blue Room”), which had everything we needed during our stay. There was another couple next door on our first night & we couldn’t even tell they were there. The wall between the units are completely soundproof & the patio area/entrance is designed so you never really have to see the other guests. The cooking area was far more than your standard “kitchenette” - it came equipped with an induction hot plate, toaster oven, pots & pans, sink, coffee maker, etc., there’s even an electric grill on your patio if you want to have a BBQ. The fridge was stocked on arrival (see photo 4) & we were told to let Shelley know if we needed more of anything, which we didn’t. Toiletries were provided. Bed was incredibly comfortable. Everything was really perfect, including the location.

One thing to be aware of - and this is true for the entire island, not just this B&B - Hornby is on water conservation during the summer months (think shorter showers & more mindfulness when doing dishes).

Shelley goes out of her way to make sure her guests have everything they need to make their stay enjoyable & her thoughtfulness is felt throughout the house. The units are structured to be completely separate from her house next door, there’s even a separate separate driveway & parking lot for her guests that ensures maximum privacy (see photo 1). That being said, she’s there when you need her to be - there’s a whiteboard by the entrance (see photo 2) where you can leave notes for Shelley if you need anything & where she left suggestions for things to do (she’d been going to Hornby for years before they moved & knows all the hidden gems).

We’ll definitely be back & could not recommend this place more. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Beckett’s BnB is truly a place to embrace the “Hornby Magic.” My boyfriend and I stayed here and we had a fantastic time! It’s very well located near downtown/mountain biking trails/Helliwell park/Tribune Bay. In addition, the Units are large with privacy, and are in a beautiful acreage that’s tranquil and peaceful. Shelley is an absolute super host- she was attentive and gave a lot of recommendations on what to do at Hornby Island. I recommend everyone stay here! 5 stars all the way.

Beckett’s B&B feels like home as soon as you arrive. The location is perfect; a 10 minute walk to town, 10 minute drive to the ferry and close to the beaches and Helliwell Park. I haven’t slept that well in ages; it is very quiet and you will wake up to birds chirping. We stayed in the Blue Room, which is actually an apartment with kitchen and a spacious washroom. Both units are brand new and a lot of care went into the furnishings, decor and amenities. There wasn’t a single thing lacking and it was spotless. The fridge is full size and had an assortment of fresh breakfast foods. We enjoyed sitting on the patio looking at the forest. Super host Shelley and her retriever, Chester, were the highlight of our trip to Hornby. If you’re looking for a great place run by a lovely person, you’ll love Beckett’s B & B!
