We ordered takeout from Ford's Cove Restaurant last weekend. The food was delicious, the batter was very good, fish was fresh, and portion sizes were very reasonable as well. We went off to eat outside on the rocks before realizing our fried pickles did not make it into our bag!
We assumed we'd swing by to get them on our way out, but their employee Shannon went above and beyond and brought the fried pickles out to us way out on the rocks a short while later! Excellent service on her part, and it MADE our anniversary lunch!
I would highly recommend this spot for anyone coming to Ford's cove and Hornby Island.
Great place to relax, have something to eat and drink. Staff are amazing and the view, rain or shine can't be beat. The food ranges from fish and chips, hamburgers, wings etc. to the addition of soups and chili in the cooler weather. Our favorite time is in the afternoon, when you can sit back, have a beer and snack on the best onion rings! The staff do a great job and are always friendly and professional even when it can get very busy in the evening in the summer months.
I LOVE Fords Cove! The view is magical, especially the evening sun setting down with mountians and the marina. The food is phenomenal! They used to be the fish + chips food truck, and have since moved into the restaurant expanding their menu. Everything is FRESH and they use local when possible. The staff are always amazing!! They even remember my order and allergies when we come in, they are so accommodating and friendly. Yes it's loud in there (when busy), but it's easily overlooked and well worth it for EVERYTHING else they have/do. (You can't get a building with such high vaulted ceilings + floor to ceiling windows, without some echo noise.)
I highly recommend you come earlier and walk along the rocks. The sandstone and fossils are so unique and well worth the stroll. Also the corner store downstairs, has a little bit of everything, in the event you need something ♡ plus they're open until 8PM, so if Co-op is closed, there is always another grocery store open. (Stock comes mostly from Costco.) Plus they have the cutest little video rental section (watch out Blockbuster, Fords Cove is killing it for the nostalgia LOL) And Pizza! (It's really good pizza too!)
There is a little bit of everything here.... Including a campground and cabins!
There is nothing like this place, I highly recommend it. Come make an afternoon/evening out of it ♡ You won't regret the time spent.
Our family always enjoys our visit to Ford's Cove Restaurant. The staff is friendly and the beautiful view is amazing. Make sure to bring sunblock and a hat because it can get hot! The food and drinks are reasonably priced and decent.
