“Amazing experience on chinook salmon egg take day! Our kids got a special hands on experience with the egg removal process. They got to assist in blocking the sun, as to not allow the eggs to spoil. The workers explained the whole process, the importance and everything as they worked. The kids left in awe, and talked for the rest of the day about the experience. Very educational, learning process for them. My daughter is now inspired by them and is now interested in working with the fish. Big thank you to the workers at the Fish Hatchery, especially the lady doing the egg removal (we never got your name!) You've made a couple of kids very happy, and taught them lessons they will never forget.”

“Truly unique gluten free crust made of potato and polenta base that gives a somewhat fry-like dense taste that stands out. This really tasted like eating pizza on a base of fries and it was delicious! I got the Pesto Pedaler which was a great combination of flavours that I have never seen put together before. I would highly recommend it on any crust. Unfortunately I was short on time so I ordered take out and as a result can’t comment too much on the atmosphere of the restaurant. However, I did walk in to pick up my pizza. It was a chill vibe with friendly staff and a smooth pick up experience. I’d definitely go back for a cool date or hang out with friends. Overall, a unique gluten free gem that’s worth making the trip to visit if you’re a celiac travelling in the vicinity.”

The two servers working were very kind, friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was nice - simple, very warm and cozy. The breakfast was fantastic. My wife and I wanted to start basic with our first visit and got the classic benny and vegetarian benny and neither of us were disappointed. Both were delicious and not too complicated, and the home fries were perfect. We were also happy to see a variety of vegetarian and vegan options. I’m sometimes a little bit hesitant going to a place that blends such varying cuisine but it was great and we can’t wait to come back again soon to try more!”

The meat cutter came out with a beautiful whole prime rib and asked how much I wanted. He cut and tied the perfect portion. I wish I had asked his name. It's great to buy locally raised grass fed beef! So worth the price.”

“I am the owner/operator of the pet boarding facility on the Courtenay/Melville boundary. Though I am equidistant from several clinics, Dr. Tom, his front office, as well as other the DVM staff at Country Animal Hospital are always my first and only call when I need anything medically related or relevant for either my dogs personally, or guests. From prescriptions, consultations, appointments, or just advice which I often ask when trying to determine the best course of action to take with a guest who I am unsure about the best way to proceed, no matter how big or small, they always have time for me. They provide education, are professional, prompt and incredibly caring. I would highly recommend this animal hospital based on my extensive experience both as a kennel operator as well as a “dog dad” who loves his own, as well as all dogs in care, beyond measure.”
