Honey Grove

Very cosy and warm place to stay. Beautiful garden and deck. All amenities like washing machine, laundry dryer, lovely and friendly owners. Good description of nature walks in neighboorhood and further out. Also list of restaurants is provided, but availabe kitchen well equiped for homecooking.

I had the incredible good fortune of staying at the Honey Grove cottage for isolation during the first months of Covid 19. I had tried to book the cottage earlier in the spring for a week and couldn't because it was fully booked - but because of Covid, resultant travel restrictions and cancellations, I was able to take sanctuary there for two amazing months. Tal and Nao are caring, responsive, and respectful hosts. Though in isolation, I never felt isolated because of their, and their amazing dogs, chickens and gardens, presence. I could walk for hours in nature from my door, I could drive to beaches in minutes, I could eat organic eggs within minutes of coming from the coop. I could sit on the deck and watch the moon and stars at night.I could revel in storms in safety and wonder. And still have all the comforts of home. I watched the gardens and trees come to life - robins nesting in the clematis over the bedroom windows. I was at peace to read and write, even though not able to return home. Now, I long to return to Honey Grove.

honestly, if you haven't tried Mark's Artisan sour dough bread yet, your seriously missing out! Honey Grove Bakery just got their bread into a few local stores(Edible Island being one) and if you see a loaf, do treat yourself!! They are at the Comox Valley Saturday farmer's market too, but you got to get there early to be rewarded with sourdough godliness. :D
