“Wonderful experience at this conservation center for birds of prey. While I loved the eagle, hawks and owls, the bird that surprised me the most was the turkey vulture. I grossly underestimated their flying ability. They skim the surface of the ground and then pull up into a graceful landing. They are such efficient flyers that when they circle above, they only need one wing beat per minute to maintain their flight. An absolutely elegant display of flying prowess.”
