This is my wife's and my favourite restaurant in the Cowichan Valley. They are absolute masters of flavour, excellent service and extremely personable. They have a great kids menu so we can go and bring our kids with their underdeveloped palates who might not appreciate bold, delicious Thai food. I recommend to anyone who will listen.
Food is fantastic. Second time coming here and it was just as good as the first. The wife and kid loved it as well. I highly recommend giving this place a try. You won’t be disappointed. My daughter recommends the Duck Confit.
WOW! Had dine in lunch. Wonderful friendly owners. Everything so fresh made to order. Accurate spice levels, Packed full of flavour, great portions. Will be eating here very often. A+++ A1
I like Thai food. I’ve been to maybe 12 different Thai food restaurants. I love massaman and I always order this dish to compare between the restaurants I visited before.
R-harn Thai Restaurant makes, by very far, the absolute best beef massaman curry I’ve ever had.
Furthermore, this dish is basically a stew, correct? Yes! And I love stews. I’ve tested stews while visiting 3 different continents, several countries and countless regional unique subcultures. They all have their version of a stew. I tested so many stews in my life… this stew is in the top 5.
Hands down.
You all have to taste the beef massaman from R-harn.
Great Thai food, and such a nice addition for Shawnigan. The red curry was our favourite with a much more varied collection of vegetables than you normally get and a delicious curry base. The pad Thai with shrimp was nice and light yet still flavourful. Impeccably fresh ingredients. The drunken noodles were a little on the sticky side, maybe because they were broad noodles (we prefer thinner) but it also had great flavour and spice. Portion sizes were average. This is owned by a lovely family, get out and support them, we’ll certainly be back to try their other dishes.
