“Decent pizza. Sauce is good. Dairy-free cheese is good. Original crust is very soft. Wings are decent but little to no sauce. Get a dipping sauce with them makes all the difference. Boneless pork ribs were okay but again, just a drizzle of sauce. Greek Donair was kind of terrible but maybe just not my thing. Overall pretty good! And they do debit/credit card at the door. Nice addition to Lake Cowichan.”

“We recently had Farms Gate cater our wedding, and the food was truly the star of the show! Michael and Daniel were incredibly professional, accommodating and fun. We changed and added to our menu many times, and each time were met with excitement and creative ideas. The food itself is such high quality, even their seasoned vegetables were at the same caliber as their smoked brisket. They add such amazing details to each dish. Our guests are still talking about the food, and their smoked mashed potato’s will go down in history as most talked about at our wedding. Not only do they make incredible food but they’re very conscious of their impact and maintain local ingredients. Their passion for their business shines through in their food, and it was such a fantastic experience working with them.”

“What a surprisingly charming candy shop. My first time in this town as I always drove by it on the highway. I'm glad I made a rest stop here and found this shop. The decor and ambience is unique. The candy selection is great and the candy nougat was fresh unlike the big box stores. I'll have to stop here again and also explore the other stores in town.”

“This is such a gem in the heart of town. Just sneaking behind the buildings of the artisanal Main Street you are transported into relaxing secret garden. A perfect spot to enjoy an ice cream in summer with the largest selection of flavours around. Sit back an enjoy the sculpted shrubs and of course the wooden carved bears. Even in winter it is a nice spot to relax and visit.”

“We called looking for a gift basket. Kyle who I belive is the owner was super helpful and friendly. We talked over the phone and got a variety of items put together for a 3 year old boy who is in hospital. Kyle even offered to deliver it free of charge! The little boy was ecstatic and it made his day. Kyle and his wife went above and beyond to help us out and we really appreciated it! Highly recommend this shop! Thanks again!”

“Tucked into a courtyard off the road a bit, if you are driving, be careful because blink and you'll miss it! Look for the Kahuna burger and you'll be good. The poke bowl is fresh and delicious! The green papaya slaw was yummy! The staff was super friendly. The location was clean and well lit. Wish we had had time to checkout the rest of the area. This part of Duncan has a neat old town feel, and seems like it would be fun to walk around for a bit :) Will definitely be back.”

“Got the Kahuna Burger, bacon, cheese and all the fixin's. Best burger I've had in a long while. The patty had a wonderful flavour, not sure what I was tasting but it was good. Bun was large and in charge but not overpowering, enough to keep a juicy burger under control until it was gone. My friend had the Portobello vegetarian option and polished it off with gusto. Got a kick out of the Eating Instructions" we were given before our burgers were served. Need to follow the protocols to avoid wearing some of it home, where you will fast become your dog's favourite human. The green mango slaw was a bit disappointing, I found it a little dry and lacking in flavour. Next time I will try the regular slaw. I did appreciate the use of wooden (bamboo?) cutlery that can be recycled. My only "beef" is the price. At around $20 this was by far the most expensive burger I have ever ordered. Because of that, Kahuna Burger will not become my regular lunch destination in Duncan, I will maybe keep this place in my back pocket for special occasions.”

“The croissants are buttery perfection. Crispy, oily perfection. The breakfast croissant is absolutely everything you want it to be. Cheesy, meaty, juicy, flavourful. The alleyway entrance is shady in the morning which is nice in the Summer and comfortable sitting inside as well. Drip and iced coffee is available. :)”

“This is another one of those reastutaunts I've always come to as a child but stopped as I got older. I went back to see if anything changed and it hadn't. I ordered the Vicky burger and orange pop. The food came pretty dang fast which is great. The fries seemed frozen and a little bit overdone, but the burger makes up for any issue I had with the fries. The bun was soft and a bit chewy just like how I like my buns and the sauce used was delicious My order was about 20 dollars in total and that's a pretty good price if you ask me. This is another resturaunt you should definitely try if you're visiting Duncan”

“Not sure how to rate it. I did email With no reply. I’ve been a many times. When driving through and have stopped in to eat as well. We visit the area often. Always order dinner for two or family dinners. Most of the time it had been great with good sizes. Last time servings seemed a bit less. Such as less fried and less coleslaw. The last time we went in august though was disappointing. We ordered a halibut meal when in town or driving through as that’s what my spouse likes and a cod meal. The halibut was supposed to be two pieces and came with 3 nugget sized pieces of mostly batter. Not even the size of one halibut. They didn’t even say they were running out of halibut to offer maybe half halibut half cod to actually equal enough fish for two pieces. Halibut costs a fair amount more so this was not ok. The coleslaw serving was also two spoonfuls each. Where it used to be a good amount. So my husband was left hungry. Also the last time we ordered a family size pack and we didn’t even get enough fries for 4 people. The serving was half the time before. I’m not sure if they have different cooks or forget what orders they are doing but it’s been inconsistent. It’s unfortunate because the food is good when done right. Taste would get a 4-5 starts But inconsistency gets 2 so I’ll average a 3. Unsure if we will be back because it’s not cheap to eat out these days and we don’t want to be hungry after. Wish servings were consistent. Fish is one of our fav and it’s the best place for taste in town”

“It's Timmy's and it's like a home away from home! I try not to think about it being no longer a Canadian organization. There was a great sense of Canadian pride at one time, now it's just hoping that it does not become the Burger King of the mornings. I'm amazed with all the staff turnover there's still a really great attitude for the most part on pretty much everyone I visit. To the people that work there, you're doing a great job! Thank you!”

“Great Thai food, and such a nice addition for Shawnigan. The red curry was our favourite with a much more varied collection of vegetables than you normally get and a delicious curry base. The pad Thai with shrimp was nice and light yet still flavourful. Impeccably fresh ingredients. The drunken noodles were a little on the sticky side, maybe because they were broad noodles (we prefer thinner) but it also had great flavour and spice. Portion sizes were average. This is owned by a lovely family, get out and support them, we’ll certainly be back to try their other dishes.”

“My 2 standard poodles went nuts for the sweet potato chews! They were searching the kitchen for more, sniffing every inch. The honey peanut butter stars were just as loved and I liked that they weren't super hard like other biscuits! ♥”

“I've been to Little Town a few times and the pizza is always delicious. The service is too; the employees are always friendly and smiling. Their prices are good compared to other pizza places in the area. Their specialty pizzas are the best. I highly recommend the 'mozza and more mozza', it's basically an extra cheese pizza. I really like the texture of the crust somehow. The flavor is extraordinary and unlike any other pizza that I've tried. You have to get pizza here just for the unique experience.”
