I work at a golf course just south of the border and have been up to Wildstone twice now. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, the course is in fantastic shape, and the views are unbeatable. The bang for the buck at their price point is tough to beat. We are already planning another trip up!
Course layout excellent. But. Houses everywhere and patio after mediocre. Pace of play poor almost 5 hours. Very nice course but prefer Shadow Mountain and even Trickle for the overall experience.
Amazing course, the greens and fairways are very well manicured, like tournament golf manicured. And the surrounding beauty is stunning.
The course is a beautiful track, houses around the course are not in play. The starter Al got our round started with some good details, including the woman in the house at hole #4. Was a little surprised that a course that has been there so long, still doesn’t have a paved car park or a real clubhouse. But I’ll be back regardless.
BEST COURSE IN KIM/CRAN
From a pure golf perspective, this is the best course in Kimberley/Cranbrook based on a fun & engaging layout, superb conditioning, not to mention great value.
Upon moving to the area, I made sure to explore the different golf courses before becoming a member anywhere. I chose Wildstone because it has a very fun layout (5 par fives, 5 par threes) where no two holes are alike. In addition to the layout, the conditioning of the course is amazing. The greens are always awesome, rolling relatively quick and true. The course provides a challenge to good players with multi-tiered greens and a lot of tricky green complexes. That said, the fairways are wide and nearly all greens provide novice golfers with the option to role the ball to the surface, making it playable. As the photos show, there are plenty of great views of the nearby Rocky Mountains. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating, adding to the experience whether you are at the course for a day or a full season. Yes, the clubhouse is a trailer but, as far as I know, they still serve cold domestics baby so don't sweat it.
Ultimately, I was a member here for 3 years and can't say enough good things about the place. This course is legit and an absolute must play.
