“Beautiful lake and campgrounds. Only outhouses no other facilities. The fsr can be a bit bumpy so take your time and please pack out your trash! We saw a grizzly in the area so be smart.”

“One of many bridges over the Fraser River but it’s not the bridge that I remember as a child ratherThis bridge replaced a one car aerial ferry that connected Boston Bar with North Bend. That one car ferry has a lot of memories for me as a child. My grandparents on both sides lived in North Bend and my parents grew up and got married in North Bend. The bridge is nice and does it’s job and certainly it is much more efficient than a one car ferry but sometimes progress isn’t always what it’s cracked up to be. I remember going across the ferry high above the Fraser River with the wind blowing in my face and being thrilled crossing the river. I could look down at the river through the boards on the floor of the ferry and get so excited, it almost felt like one might fall into the river. Anyways I digress. My wife and I drove and walked on the bridge and it was nice. For more information on the one car ferry see the museum in North Bend and the actual ferry at Boston Bar.”

“Stopped in for lunch yesterday. This is a great little place. Had the fisherman's special with the soup. Always get soup! It's delicious. The fish was nicely battered and not greasy. I'll be stopping in when I'm in the area again.”
