AWESOME bacon cheeseburger & fries!!! DELICIOUS home style food, perfect service, very fair price ($18+tax+tip). PROUD and friendly Embers owner. Each group member LOVED his/her meal choice. Tops our list of "fun food" in Mission, Hatzic, Agassiz, Harrison & GREATER VANCOUVER area. Thank you so much, we will be back :)
Decided to give Embers BBQ House a try after doing a search for restaurants near Mission Raceway. Ordered the Micheal Sandwich with fries...it was a very good bbq chicken sandwich. The hand cut fries were awesome too.
The service was good too.
A hidden little gem!
Hey, for a place with no liquor license (therefore no beer with lunch) I really enjoyed the atmosphere as well as the pulled pork sandwich and fries. Good portion, fair price, good variety of small label, sugary, carbonated beverages if you're into that kind of thing (I just had water) and the service was good. I had their ribs before, my mouth waters at the thought and I'll certainly have a pile of them if they're available next time.
There's an outdoor patio, tables inside, bathroom is way in the back. A real Mission gem.
Best pulled pork around that we have experienced in the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland. We always make sure to stop in (or detour to) when passing through.
That said, this most recent trip - sides seemed to have gone down hill. The beans were runny and didn't taste fresh and the coleslaw while fresh didn't have any taste (lacking dressing and salt - tasted like plain cabbage). I like like coleslaw dressing not too heavy but this was so light I couldn't taste it.
Anyways, staff are always friendly and food is made pretty quickly. We'll be back for the pulled pork sandwich but will just skip the sides all together next time or go with the fries.
It's not bad. If you are looking to have your bbq meats smoked, then you will be disappointed...especially with the Brisket which is braised and served in a very thin liquid meant to be au jus (lacks flavor). The pulled pork is seasoned with cumin which seems to be trying to cover up a lack of flavor and dryness. The baked beans were tasteless so you should avoid this side. The pork ribs were pretty good. They meat falls off the bone nicely and the bbq sauce is tasty. The chicken lacks smoke and tastes like regular rotisserie chicken.
The overall presentation of the platter is good and there is a lot of food. The wings were good with a nice honey garlic flavor. The caesar salad is fresh and delicious and the fries and bread were very nice. Fat wedges and generous buttery portions respectively.
The service is attentive and friendly. The dill potato salad is excellent! But speaks to how everything is nontraditional. If I were to come back, I'd have the ribs with potato salad again with caesar salad and fries.
The restaurant was very clean as well. Embers is not a traditional bbq house. So don't expect a Memphis, Texas or Carolina style bbq restaurant.
