PCRM Fertility Clinic - Burnaby

Overall I had a very good experience here. I am currently expecting after receiving an IUI treatment.
My advice to anyone going to the clinic, don’t expect any handholding, it’s an emotional process but this is a very professional place and most of the doctors are not Into coddling you. They will get straight to the point, do all the tests you need etc. If you want handholding, get a midwife after you’re done.

Our iui experience with dr. Havelock was great however after the positive result, we are still left hanging and waiting for an OB. It's frustrating and my family doctor finds it unacceptable. It's been a month and i still don't have an ob. Dr. Havelock's secretary did not follow up or even check why the first ob they've referred me to have not contacted me for almost 2 weeks. If it were not for the help of another secretary in pcrm, we would have not known that tge ob was on maternity leave. We just wasted our time waiting. For the next ob they've referred me to, i was told that if i am not at hight risk that ob will not see me until end of February which by that time i'm probably 4.5 months. That's ridiculous! Because of that i was advised to currently go back to my family doctor to get checked. Now, my family doctor's trying to refer me asap to an ob. I was so happy that we are finally pregnant but this situation that we're in right now's giving me the stress which i think is because of the carelessness and lack of initiative of tge nurse to even follow up or make sure that this journey is hassle and stress free.

I thought this was a really nice clinic, and I liked it. However, the doctors have lots of patients, and they don't have much time to talk. They only told me important things, and the female doctor didn't listen carefully when I talked about my tummy pain from the self injections. I failed my ivf cycle because of poor quality of my embryo. I got one egg fertilized out of four. I wonder why. I wonder if they did something like ICSI for the three eggs they might have fertilized. When she called me my embryo didn't grow, she didn't explain why such as my age or something I don't know. Now I know my eggs have poor quality, but why didn't they tell us before we started ivf?
It's a nice facility but I wish they were nicer and more concerned for every patient.
