Very good place for seniors. It is relatively new building with large rooms and friendly staff. What I liked the most about this facility is that they had Independence Matter office (nursing company) right in this building. So, if your parents need a nice suite with full services, testy meals and caring hands you don't need to look any further.
I was wondering about how was the quality of the service here. I called them and they gave me the most amazing experience ever. Love it
I can't add a photo at the moment because my MAC won't let me (thanks, guys). Although we never wanted to do it, Mom's diabetes got to the point that we had no choice. It was blind luck that we had found her on several occasions. Mom is on a sliding scale of insulin, depending on her reading. There are health staff on site that come and watch her inject herself. I know they keep a really good eye on the people who live there. They talk to the residents like real people...none of that, "how are WE doing?" nonsense that can be so condescending. The meals are prepared downstairs in a hotel like setting. If more is required, they will arrange for a snack to be sent up. I had to hit the emergency alarm when I was there once, as Mom crashed quickly, and the response was instant. There is somebody at the desk, which adds a safety feature. My only issue is that the parking around here sucks. It makes visiting a chore, especially when I am bringing things for her. She has her own apartment with her own things. It is ideal. There is a beauty parlour downstairs, should she want to get her hair done. There's even a bar and a movie room, sewing room, exercise room and a courtyard. I'm working on getting Mom to mingle, as are the health workers. Yes, it does cost a bit, but my mother slaved over a wringer washing machine when we were young. She likes the staff here, which is what counts.

I am editing my post in August to warn people. Watch out for By-Law Enforcement Officer 108. Even though my family has paid taxes in this town since the 70's and my mother lives here, the Meter Maid gave me a ticket for being parked more than two hours. There are no parking lines or stalls, but the person did it all the same. Next time, I will move my vehicle an inch or two, video tape the move. I wish the same concern would be displayed by the "by law" people for the real infractions in town. Other than that, it was a great visit with Mom and it continues to be a good place. Mom was just given a new fridge, as the freezing compartment wasn't working well.
