Safeway Maple Ridge

I've always loved the Safeway in Maple Ridge but it's closing its doors on May 25th. You can tell, the shelves are getting pretty bare. It's going to get renovations and reopen as some big box store called Freshi. I guess I'll be going to Save On from here on out.

I'm going to miss the lovely staff that have been there for years. Hopefully the company will treat them fairly.

Safewy could do a lot better if they were customer orintated. I see to many employees standing around while customers could be served. I have actually stood at a empty till waiting for a clerk to appear.
I understand why they have been bought out.

Safeway is a great place to shop if you are flush in money.They have items that most grocery stores don't. I think when Sobey's bought them out , they are still finding their way. Hopefully now that they have no US connections the store will be more competitive. Buy their corned beef at the deli.You cant get it anywhere else.The best
Just make a turban sandwich.

Clean, nice, and comfortable shopping floor/environment. Life radio provided. Price is a bit high compares to competitors, however on sales items are ok. Employees are pretty nice and friendly. Check out speed is pretty fast. Public washrooms available. Starbucks available inside. Free parking lot in the front. Walking distance to bus stops.

Misconception by a lot of people that prices are a lot higher personally that just not true in my experience. If you shop following some basic rules such as buying item's that you use while on sale you will find little to no difference. I know that the quality of their fresh item's are superior and that when you add it all together then I think that you'd agree that it's worth any extra if you want have a more enjoyable shopping experience.
