“I love their cakes and how healthy they are. I love the fact that all goodies are made like real french bakery goods. This bakery is always my number 1 choice for birthday cakes. It seems to me that they could be more successful if they implemented some market research to learn more about their customers as well as some marketing to increase awareness about their bakery. ”

“Great food for on the go. Lots of high sugary stuff, but if gluten is your only issue great options. Nice pies for the holidays.”

“Neat and comfortable. A clean smaller little cafe minutes from the Deep Cove harbour front. Good food but pricey.”

“Incredible honey donuts mixed with amazing and professional service. The owner opened up the doors even though they had just closed. It was my second time there, ever, and she remembered when I had stopped by the first time. I recommend this place as I will continue to come back whenever I'm in the area!”

“Stopped in after a day at Seymour. Was about 8pm. Starbucks was closed. Food bar seemed to be closing. Soup was shut down etc. Was very quiet which I guess is why. Hard to tell sometimes what to expect when a store is open but multiple parts of it are not. Otherwise clean and what you would expect in a Safeway.”

“A lovely feel-at-home place with the yummiest sticky buns and good coffee! The sourdough bread is made to perfection with a nice crunchy crust and lots of air inside. The coconut curry soup made a nice light but filling lunch.”

“Very convenient place for shopping on north shore. Spacious from inside and outside with lot of parking. Almost you will find most of the things from your shopping list. Sundays morning to late afternoon very busy period. Late evenings shopping is crowd-free but even you will find most of the items out on shelf. Friday the best day for shopping as weekly stocks and promotional offers are replenished.”

“The Reece’s pieces tail was so good! They are so sugary it was hard to finish by myself, I would recommend sharing. We were there on a rainy cold day so there was no line and it warmed us up a little.”

“The people at this place make it what it is. So friendly and helpful, seems like they know all the neighbourhood clientele by name. The meat quality is great, and I love the free marinade and vacuum pack service that they offer. Pepperoni is delicious. The import products are expensive, but after being to a couple similar places, that seems normal... really geared to the ex-pat who wants a taste of home, and is willing to pay for it.”

“The bagels are really good however after a day they get too stale for my liking The house maid cream cheese is very good. Service… Well I went for half a dozen bagels this morning on a whim and the young girl behind the counter acted like she hated me. She didn’t say a word throughout the entire transaction, in fact the only word spoken with how much I owed, just the amount… Nothing else. I actually commented when I was done because I was in such shock. Even a half given smile would have been fine . Think I’m done with the place now.. sorry”

“Since Pie in the Sky (Cape Neddick, Maine) closed for good last Fall, i have been lamenting the loss of my Favorite Pie in the World. (In honor of that, i have enclosed below a picture of the last peach pie I bought there in June 2016)! Then i visited Vancouver in July, and met Ben at the Kitsilano Farmer's Market. I bought 2 pies and now i can rest easy that the Best Pie in the World can be found in Vancouver (5,230 km away, according to Google Map). The straqwberry--rhubarb and blueberry pie were both perfectly balanced in flavor (fresh and not too sweet), and in consistency of the fillings (not too runny but juicy). The crust was sublime: tender, flaky, and flavorful. Ben took great length to tell me how difficult it is to arrive at the "industrial" process that creates hand-crafted-quality pies. If you are an obsessive pie baker, you'd appreciate that. The HMP pie, is simply, royalty among pies, the Queen of Pies, the BEST PIE IN THE WORLD.”

“Hands down BEST empanadas on the North Shore. The hot sauce they sell is also legit. I love this place! 10 stars if Google would let me. Thank you El Dorado.”
