(March 6, 2019, 8:45 pm)Great prices (usually) but beware when booking in the winter in Vancouver, they may charge extra for winter tires and you need them by law to go to Whistler. When reserving, it was very iffy if our car would have winter tires on them, they wouldn't confirm and there's no telephone number to contact YVR thrifty. It was very uneasy booking in the winter. So we keep to booking cars with them in the Spring and Summer when we visit.
(January 17, 2019, 5:43 am)Had a good experience. Even though I had called international to thrifty reservations to request a vehicle with snow tires as I was going on the Powder Highway, it seemed over looked at check-in. I mentioned it and effectively, or 'calculated", they upgraded my SUV one model and with winter tires at $25 CAD a day. It was basically a brand new Hyundai Santa Fe AWD. I took the deal as really you could be in trouble without winter tires. Overall maybe I was lucky but was good outcome they were able to provide such a vehicle. I still don't get why these car rental companies might it hard to pre book such cars given the local winter laws and a demand from tourists.
(January 15, 2019, 6:58 pm)They were super kind and gave my dad and I a great deal. We rented a car with a nearby agency at Vancouver International Airport. The cheapest price they offered was $109/day. Out of curiosity, we asked Thrifty what they had and, in the end, got a newer and nicer car through Thrify for only $60/day. We also added on full-coverage insurance with less of a deductible than the other agency. The car was in excellent condition. Overall a great experience and I highly recommend them!
