My sister, my dad & I met John Rice and Dee Rogers in December 2016, when we were looking to get information on suing a family that allowed 2 family Pitbull terrier dogs attack my dad and drag him around 'like a chicken' (as my 75 year old Filipino dad would say), from the curb down to the middle of the street. These dogs were involved in an attack only 2 months previous and already had strict restrictions against them, but the careless family that owned them did not follow these restrictions and my dad was attacked. My dad recieved 28 staples to his forearm where a large chunk of his skin on hung after being ripped off by the powerful bite of a Pitbull. John & Dee, listened to my dad's report of events intently. They took my dad's case and started the proceedings right away. Shortly after our initial meeting, things moved along in a very timely manner. John's team kept in contact with us all of the time, and we're also readily available whenever we had questions. Psychologist appointments were made available for my dad to help him get through his new anxieties. Almost 2 years had gone by from our first meeting and then we found out there was a court date set for May 2019. John & his team started to prepare us for the steps leading up to that date, taking such care & concern to help us through the process. Unfortunately, we didn't get to the trial. 2 years right to the date of his Pitbull mauling, my dad was struck by an SUV with a driver who only had her Learners License and no supervisor with her. My dad died of his injuries 3 days after. John and his team reached out to us immediately after they heard about my dad's accident and provided such kind words to us through those devastating days.
Sadly, with my dad's passing his case could not go further. That careless family could not be brought to justice for what they allowed to happen to my dad.
