I don’t think there are any other restaurants that sell this menu in Lowe Mainland area. If there are, please let me know! There is a place in Coquitlam that sell baby octopus over rice dish, but it ain’t the same as having a hot plate in front of you.
The service was quick and server attentive. The price was a bit high considering what I’d pay for in Korea, but you pay for its scarcity I suppose.
I got the most basic one which was baby octo and pork belly. pork belly tasted very much like cheap frozen pork belly, so I would much rather get just the octopus dish next time. I think the price difference is only a $1 or 2 if you just get the octopus, so I’m curious if they actually double the amount of octopus. It would be interesting to do a comparison.
If you like spicy food, this is a good option. We got the mild version, and it was just the right level of spiciness ( a bit sweet though). You always finish with the fried rice!
Small zzusam, steamed egg dish, fried rice and one bottle of soju (portion for two girls. tthis may not be enough for guys) came out to little over $70 with tax and tip. I’d go when I have a huge craving
The food was excellent. The service was attentive. By far the best Korean restaurant in the Royal Oak/High Gate neighbourhood.
I ordered the fried chicken with scallions, octopus hot plate with pork belly and pork intestines, and beef bone soup.
The chicken was very tender and flavourful. The sauce was a tangy ginger/garlic mixture.
The octopus is one of their signature dishes. It is spicier than the average Korean restaurant. They definitely take an authentic attitude to the dish.
Finally the beef bone soup is a special and economical treat. Definitely a full body soup with a great deal of flavour.
Korean restaurant and I had stone pot bimbimbap and rest had an squid seafood type dish. Both were great. Nice, casual unassuming setting.
I’m addicted to the food here. Everything that I’ve tried on the menu has been delicious. My favorite dish here would be the spicy stir fried pork that is served on a hot plate with a burner underneath. The spiciness can be adjusted to your liking depends on what you can handle in terms of spiciness. The deep fried chicken here is also a must try - it’s sweet with a hint of sour and super crispy.
They are quite generous with the banchan (sides) and are quick to provide you with refills when you ask for them unlike other Korean restaurants that ask you for an up charge.
The service here can be a hit or miss depending on how busy the restaurant is because sometimes there’s only 1 or 2 servers working.
Pretty good Korean restaurant. The food is good, and there's a good selection of dishes. We had one of the specials, stir fried baby octopus and chicken, and it was excellent. Note that the specials are for a minimum of 2 people, and even the mild variant is pretty spicy, so you're warned! Staff are very welcoming and friendly. There's no onsite parking, you'll have to walk a bit from your parking location.
