Great spot to bring the kids and learn about the life cycle of salmon and their spawning habits. Lots to see and nice trails for walking nearby.

Pulled out summer run coho long ago; our government is not doing enough to stop pirating countries from preying on our waters, and replenishing stocks. Heftier fines and jail for those who abuse our resources as we need more enforcement on rivers. Too many don't write down spring adult catches and violate daily catch quotas. Seen too much pressure on rivers from our growing diverse cultures and river runs have dropped big time. We need to cull marauding seals who scarf down salmon as seen on Chehalis river, Harrison lake, stave river and more.

Went here with my little one to see the jumping salmons. They've made a salmon ladder through the museum for the fishes to take a detour from the main river and give visitors an amazing experience. Will definitely recommend going here. The trails are nice too. We did the Coho trail. Pretty mild even for a 4 year old. All the best.

Amazing trails and scenery. The overall hike is mild and can be easily done by everyone. The hike takes you way above the river and gives you an eagle eye's view of the river. During the salmon season you could watch the salmon run up the river and rest at the base of the hatchery. There are stairs at about the half way point of the hike that leads all the way down the cliff and onto the river. You have to visit it during salmon season for an amazing experience.

A local gem. I love coming here with my family. Not only is the park great for hiking, but the river is also stunning. The hatchery is a great place to learn about fishing here on the coast, and at the right times of the year, you can see these fish in the hatchery.
