I was referred to Chris Carter, with Dawn Walton & Associates, to show a property in Nanaimo. How incredibly lucky I was. Chris is the consummate professional. He took care of every detail, so I did not have to worry about a thing. When the Nanaimo property was already under contract, I changed my search criteria to the Cowichan Valley. My timeframe to buy was extremely tight. Chris set up all the showings back to back, picked me up so we could discuss them, and provided valuable feedback at each one. When I expressed interest in one condo, he cautioned me that with the unit being on the top floor, the summers would be very hot (no air conditioning). He was respectful of my requirements and not just pushing for a sale!

When I told Chris that I was interested in one of the properties, he asked if I would like to go back and see it again. He arranged it (on the same day) and it gave me the extra time to really evaluate the property.

When I decided to make an offer, I wanted to go in significantly lower than the asking price. Chris was sensitive to my reasoning, and totally supportive. After multiple counters, the sellers were not budging much on price. I told Chris what my top offer was, and he said, “No, that is too much. Leave it with me, I know I can get a better price for you.” And he did! I was beyond grateful.

And then came all the closing details. Chris took care of them all, so I didn’t miss anything. He even included “professional cleaning” in the contract, so my new place was move in ready.
