Great view of Dodds Narrows and Sea Lions here! Beautiful hike.
Beautiful views from the point. We always see sea lions and other wildlife. It's a popular hike.
Great walk, it’s fun to watch the boats struggle through Dodd Narrows.
Time your visit with the tide schedule depending on what you want to do or see. There were sea lions playing in the current - full body breaching - and deer came out to the shore on Mudge Island. It's a beautiful view of the islands (Gabriola, Mudge, and Tent Islands). Easy hike too!
I love the Cable Bay-Joan Point hike out to Dodds Narrows. The tide through the Narrows is a sight to watch. When a boat or two joins the tide, it is remarkable.
This trip we watched a tug with a boom of logs, just after slacktide had ended. Even with the tug's powerful engine, the tide was a challenge.
