Beautiful Provincial Marine Park for either a day trip or walk-in camping. Accessible via foot passenger ferry from Maffeo Sutton Park from Spring to early fall.
Just finished camping 4 nights. Was great. Would of got 5 stars, except for my ordeals with the overly healthy racoon population on the island. That said, I did learn something new: Racoons know how to open tent zippers and cooler boxes.
If camping, don't underestimate those little f---ers! Lol
Saysutshun Island is so beautiful. There are trails around and through the island to explore. Its a great daytrip but if you have time then camping here is wonderful. It has a lot of luxuries - flush toilets, showers, and a cafe that sells food & icecream. The staff at the cafe were very friendly and handled some very busy afternoons really well. Be prepared for lots of wildlife too! Racoons and deer on land and sea lions in the ocean. Don't leave Anything scented in your tent or raccoons will get at it!
Great park, pretty safe like no bears or cougars to worry about. COVID protocols in place riding the ferry, but thats life. Not much happening on the island, however Jeff rents kayaks and bikes which are reasonable to a lot of fun. There is camping on the island, and nothing beats a moonlit stroll along the waterfront.
Great place to go rent bike or kayak and tour around the island. Or just take a nice walk through the trails. Perfect for a picnic with your sweetie!!!
Idyllic island for a good walk. We are built on a crazy rock! Very level picturesque place to stroll, walk, run, bike, camp. Ferry ride over is short and sweet, great people. Everyone practicing mask/social distancing.
