Douglas Bay Suite

Really wonderful spot, the owner is very understanding and kind and helpful. Breathtaking views, comfortable beds, everything you need for amenities! If I could give this place 6 stars, i would :)

It appears to us from the previous reviews that this suite has been over rated. Yes it is on a very nice part of the bay and has great views of wild life and scenery. We booked the suite at short notice and to be quite frank were not expected. We only gained entrance by asking a neigbour who rang up our host who works in Vancouver. His sister finally let us in. The suite is in the process of refitting and as such not ready for letting. It's a shame the website accepted our booking.

Beautiful view, very clean and comfortable suite. Suite had everything we needed. Blue Herons and Kite surfers were on the beach, so fun to watch. Rob was great at answering all of my questions before we arrived. If guest has mobility issues, the lower suite wouldn't work, as parking is at the top and walk down the driveway, but for us, lots of room to park our big truck and walking down to the suite was not an issue.

Beautiful quiet lodging right on the water, very nicely appointed, most comfortable queen size bed and a single bed in separate rooms, very very clean. Owner very responsive. Highly recommand!

I have had many occasions to stay in a variety of short term rental accommodations over the years, for both business and pleasure. My stay at the Douglas Bay suite suite definitely ranks with the best.

The only flaw in the five days and nights I stayed there was that the duration was so short. Powell River itself is a lovely area to visit. The local people are friendly and prices are more than reasonable. The views from my suite were exceptional. Malaspina Strait is an exceptionally beautiful of-shoot of Georgia strait and I have gotten my first look at Orca's in the wild there. Other wildlife: bald eagles, gulls, seals & otters are both beautiful to watch and fascinating.

The suite itself was exceptionally roomy, comfortable, well furnished and had a superior design. My only complaint was that it was difficult to work, with the distraction of the waterfront view.

If you need to take a break on British Columbia's West Coast, I strongly recommend getting to the Powell River area and book yourself at least a few days at the Douglas Bay Suite. An experience you will truly remember.
