My fiance and I spend alot of time Stay-Cationing on Van Isle, and this was top 2. Tons of space, extra bedding, amazing kitchen. Automatically you feel at home. Read previous reviews before staying; there were no bugs, tons of Fans and all windows had screens. The jacuzzi rub is highly underrated, it's like having a private indoor hot tub.
Only thing I would change; the living room furniture would be more comfortable for lounging and sleeping. A pull our couch would have led this to be my #1 spot on the island.
Will definitely be looking into the option of a wedding venue!
I'm a Vancouver Island local and have been coming here for 20 ish years. This is one of the most underrated places on the island. Giant tubs, full kitchen, beach access just steps from your chalet, sunrise and sunset views of the ocean from your window, and surfing only a 6 min drive from your front door. Fully equipped with a fireplace, bbq, giant jacuzzi tub, shower and a sitting room with TV for when you want a little personal space from your special someone. The groudskeepers are also exceptionally easy to deal with - I needed a very late check in and they found a way to accommodate me outside their business hours, and they have a key drop for early check outs. I'm a pretty critical, hard to please customer and this place has never failed to impress me.
I was only there to officiate at a wedding, so I only saw the banquet hall. And the outside of the cabins. Everything looked lovely and well cared for. Very cozy and right across from a gorgeous beach. Stunning setting!
Absolutely gorgeous and quiet which was a pleasant surprise since it's beside the highway. We stayed 2 nights and will be back. The beds are soft, and the pillows plentiful so you can choose the type you like. The kitchen was well-stocked even though we only used the coffee bar area. The beach across the street is breathtaking and we enjoyed our late night walk along the water.
Love, love, love this place!
We had not planned to stay here, happened by accident and so glad it did! We checked in around midnight and found the owners to be so inviting and informative. We found the cabins to be very comfortable, with great beds - always a big deal for me - beds and pillows have to be comfy! Coffee in the morning on the deck listening to the eagles whistling to each other and watching them in the trees in front of the cabins was super cool. Doesn’t get much more West Coast than this!
Unplanned stay meant we got the last cabin of the night, next trip we plan to stay in the front row.
Note the old island hwy does run between the resort and the beach, but the traffic is very light and we did not mind it at all.
