Had the smoked meat poutine… and ya, you can really taste wood smoke. Not your average “Montreal Smoked Meat”. Loved the gravy! It’s almost a cross between English style and French style gravy with a subtle addition of Madagascar peppercorn. Very impressed. Best poutine I’ve had outside of Montreal.

We were a Google review stop and it was well worth anything we yet experienced. Breakfast was outstanding. Robert and his wife shared the love they have for this “Shack”. It is no shack! We as ones from the states waited to have poutine from a place that knew how to make it, and not some chain. It was Devine. Swiss coffee with cream and fresh maple syrup. I’m changed for life. Then we had their beef main recipe that came with special mustard sauce (sample). If this is the only place you stop on Hwy 97 it will be well worth it! Stop at any cost in your schedule!!! Thank you so much!

Not bad at all.
They advertise that they are the best poutine West of Québec and coming from Québec, I can pretty well much agree! Fries are amazing, the sauce can be a bit richer, but still good and cheese is tasty, but not squeaky. The smoked meat is delicious but definitely not a "real Montréal smoked meat sandwich." A real sandwich, you require a speculum to open your mouth wide enough the get your bite in. For the price, the sandwich is way too small, but the meat is good.

This place is a must-stop along highway 97.
Ran by true frenchies, they specialize in poutine and maple syrup. The poutine is peppercorn based so safe for the veggie-roadtrippers. The maple coffee is also a must.
