“-So what do you come here for?- Great food! Wonderful atmosphere! Very enjoyable service! Clean and wonderful location! Your hitting a 10 out of 10! We were a Google review stop and it was well worth anything we yet experienced. Breakfast was outstanding. Robert and his wife shared the love they have for this “Shack”. It is no shack! We as ones from the states waited to have poutine from a place that knew how to make it, and not some chain. It was Devine. Swiss coffee with cream and fresh maple syrup. I’m changed for life. Then we had their beef main recipe that came with special mustard sauce (sample). If this is the only place you stop on Hwy 97 it will be well worth it! Stop at any cost in your schedule!!! Thank you so much!”

“Absolute Gem in Thomson-Nicola area. Highly recomeded. If you have a large group, just go family style and ask the chef to prepare his favorite. We have been there for two nights and going again. Delicious and great service.”

“Was looking for a place for dinner on my way into Vancouver and this place popped up in Ashcroft. It's just a couple minutes into town which is quite scenic. The restaurant is very very quirky small town feel with a large outdoor patio. Got the Grand Central Burger, and whatever else you can say about this place, this guy knows how to make a burger. The handmade patties literally melted in my mouth without needing to cook it medium. Definitely one of the better burgers I've had, so you won't regret going at all. The owner is a little odd but very friendly. Will definitely share some interesting opinions with you though if you let him engage in small talk.”

“The food and service were really good at the restaurant. My one son loved his lasagna - it had so much sauce - and my other son loved his pulled pork sandwich and crispy fries. Our server Leah was really friendly and on top of everything: she was serving everyone and looking after the front desk too!”

“What a lovely and friendly family-owned restaurant in a small town. We enjoyed the food and service very much. We ordered takeaway the night before and came back for lunch during our two nights of stay in Clinton. Fish and chips were one of the best we ever have. Fish were crispy, soft and juicy. Fries were crispy and flavourful. We also ordered a daily special dish, rice noodle with shrimp, that was delicious. Air-conditioner was just right for the hot weather. Owner and staff were kind-hearted and genuine. Highly recommended this eatery!”

“If you are driving through Clinton and you feel like having a bite, this is THE place! The food is delicious (I personally went for the Halibut & Chips Poutine with the Herbal Magical Tea) and the ladies were the absolute nicest! We’ve stopped at a lot of places during our two weeks road trip, and I can say that this is one of my favourites.”

“The lodging here was clean and comfortable, and surprisingly quiet, given that it’s on a major highway. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were roomy and very clean. The staff we’re helpful and professional and getting us the right kind of room for our needs.”

“Wow! I didn’t expect such a great meal from a place attached to a PetroCan. A delightful young lady named Taylor served and (I think) cooked the breakfast for us and everything was cooked perfectly. The portions are generous and the ingredients quality. When we travel we pull a large travel trailer and there is plenty of room to park. BC is currently on tight Covid restrictions, so we can’t sit inside a restaurant. Taylor prepared the meal and put it in a box so we could enjoy it inside the trailer at our table. That’s going above and beyond and we really appreciate it. We have tried most of the restaurants in Cache Creek and Cheryl’s Place really impressed us. We’ll be back for sure.”

“Just went on a day trip with family. From 4 years old to 69. Everyone had a great time, there really was something for everyone. Lots of history to learn, all the hosts there were very informative and entertaining from the blacksmith to the Inkeeper, stagecoach driver and everyone involved in each exhibit. The gold panning was especially fun for all ages. Highly recommend this for all ages, a good way to spend a day.”

“We were delighted UniTea was open today, Sunday on a long holiday weekend. The mix of soft colours and low music creat a strong welcome. My wife had the veggie quesadilla, I had the chicken burrito, both were excellent, we’d have them again. For sure you can get a Tim Hortons up on Highway 1 at the turnoff to Ashcroft but the couple of minutes into town and UniTea is well worth taking/making time for.”

“Step into Nostalgia at Slim Jim's Diner: A Delightful Blast from the Past During my recent visit to Cache Creek, I had the pleasure of dining at Slim Jim's Diner with my dad, and it was a truly nostalgic experience. From the moment I walked through the door, I was transported back to the beautiful 1950s with its vibrant atmosphere and retro interior. Now, let's talk about the food. The menu at Slim Jim's Diner offers a delectable selection of classic American comfort food. From juicy burgers and crispy onion rings to creamy milkshakes and fluffy pancakes, there was something to satisfy every craving. The portions were generous, and the flavors were spot-on, reminiscent of the nostalgic diner cuisine that we all know and love.”

“Just returned from a bachelorette weekend at Sundance Guest Ranch and had a BLAST! The location was absolutely beautiful and serene. The rooms had a rustic cabin feel but were clean and comfortable. There was a boil water advisory during our stay, however, staff provided filtered water stations throughout the resort and made sure to have filtered water available for guests. We absolutely LOVED all of the staff, especially the Wranglers that rode with us each day. They were truly so kind, fun to get to know, and genuinely wanted our group to have the best time possible. Despite other reviews warning about the weigh in at check in, we felt it was discrete and that we were well-prepared by the resort of their restrictions ahead of time. Sundance Guest Ranch was sure to send *many* emails prior to arrival stating their policy for riding, the weight/height chart restrictions and what their process was. They also asked in each email for update to date weights to ensure that they could accommodate a horse for each member of our group. Overall, we had the best time this past weekend and it was hugely thanks to the staff at the resort and the beautiful location. The line-dancing party on Saturday night was our favourite part and we can't wait to return! Thank you, Sundance Guest Ranch!”
