Overall ok campground.
We stayed in the basic tent camping that had large sites. The powered sites seemed crammed together. One annoying thing is the fire ‘pits’ are movable and when people have done that, the staff didn’t clean the area well so there was charcoal laying on the ground that my kids stepped in and brought into the tents.
Campsite is right next to a swampy area meaning there were tons of mosquitoes.
Showers are paid -$2 got you maybe 8-10 minutes but never got above cold. They also were not draining very well so there was pooled water outside the shower area making it difficult to not get your clothes wet when trying to change.
Bathrooms were clean.
Wifi is near bathrooms but there was strong cell signal.
Not a fan of being forced to pay a ‘provincial park pass’ when this campsite was much of a provincial park other then a beach that I didn’t use. Also you can’t buy a single day as they ‘expire at midnight that day’ so I had to by a multi day pass.
Decent campground with a ton of amenities, great for family camping – although the amount of rule enforcement and patrolling by the park rangers was a bit excessive, especially when we get reprimanded for playing very quiet music just slightly past quiet-time curfew because we lost track of the time, and then the next night 3 rowdy campsites are partying until 4am keeping everyone in the campground awake and the park patrols are nowhere to be seen (good job guys!).
Falcon Lake Beach Provincial Park Campground - family and friends booked several sites in June and overall it was a good experience.
Pros-
-Proximity to Winnipeg
-Best Manitoba Provincial Park beach we ve visited thus far
-lots of amenities within walking distance (beach, restaurants, pub, grocery store, gas station, gift shop, and beach front grill/bar
-wifi hubs in the park
-very friendly staff
-well cleaned and taken care of park
-lots to do with kids
Cons -
-very crowded on the weekend
-bathrooms and shower facilities are aged
-sites are generally very small with zero privacy
Overall good campground within the Whiteshell.
128 Klms East of Winnipeg. Beautiful drive out of the city to enjoy the outdoors and tasty food. Take a stroll to the beach. So beautiful. Loads of space to place your towel down enjoy the sun ‘n water. Enjoy your time away fresh air 🥰 🏝️ 💦 It was a busy Monday I’m sure weekends are loaded with tourists.
