“This is a great hidden Cafe in McGregor. I try and stop and get thier club house sandwich on homemade rye everytime I pass. This Cafe also sells frozen pre-made meals, olive oils and woodworking. If your looking for a nice little spot to have a sandwich this is a great little spot.”

“Covid changed the way we road trip, and how we spend our money on food, restaurants and so forth while road tripping. We no longer support major corporate owned restaurants and fast food chains. We now look for small individually owned places in small towns on our route and rather support locally. This weekend we drove past Winnipeg and Portage la Prairie to have brunch in McGregor, some 123 km's west of Winnipeg, just off the Trans Canada.. What a gem Bison General in MacGregor MB is. Yes you wait a couple of minutes for your food, but it’s freshly made and delicious! Really great coffee too. This Blueberry , bacon and Brie sandwich with rocket is off the charts! So too the Thai noodle salad. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich and chicken soup. What a wonderful experience.....even though there was no public washroom available. Fortunately for us, the friendly young man at the hardware store across the street from Bison General was very accommodating. Foot note to the owner: Mea culpa. My intentions were bona fide. At no point were my reference to the metropolis of MacGregor in the same breath as "small town businesses" meant to offend or in any way belittle. I will be better.....”

“Good service at gas pumps from attendants but noticed the snack prices and drink prices are not always the same as the Homestead coop grocery store Portage , and they need a vacuum in each auto wash stall also the store should be made bigger it’s too small.”
