Love skiing Chickadee Trail. Wish it was groomed. Also wish there was better signage so that people would stop using it as a walking path. And in early July the park is flooded with 1000's Winnipeg Folk Fest attendees. Love the laid back, everyone-is-your-friend atmosphere and the music. It's an amazing out door setting. It's hard to get close to the front of most stages and it's lost its quaint small fest feel....a victim of it's own success. But if you don't mind paying the price and you don't mind crowds, its something you should experience.
A beautiful park, despite the abuse it takes from being so close to a large urban centre. Trails could use a bit more TLC, but are still great given the traffic they manage.
Wonderful weather for a sleigh ride today, two majestic horses pulling a hay covered sleigh on a nicely groomed trail. Nice clean facilities at the ranch. Kids and adults had a fun time. We will definitely come for another ride!
Great trails, one is paved and fairly wide so it's easy to pass others. I appreciate the expansion they did recently to the beach. Never have issues with parking. Water is ok but not the cleanest looking.
Closest provincial park to Winnipeg which makes it ideal for a quick event. Spend just as much time here in the summer and winter. Hiking, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, tobogganing, and sleigh rides in the winter. Biking, hiking, beaching, and camping (great group sites) in the summer. Plus if you forgot something at home you can just go get it.
